I like this series, but I almost always have to turn off my medical brain. -Stitching an old infected wound? A highway to gangrene. -Secondary syphilis with outbreaks occurring at the same time, in the same way, in multiple people? Nope. No more capricious and deceptive than treponema. -Skulls remaining with their mandibles firmly attached after 8 years in the ground? Mine's falling off. -Probability of color blindness for a woman? 0.5%...
All this is no more subtle than their love at first sight. Who knows why, but I still enjoy watching it. It's a matter of pace, perhaps.
(Imperial Coroner remains much better, with unexpected charm and a very sweet romance.)
I stopped watching. the started to rewatch on viki, hoping the comments would make it more appealing for me. lol…
you may be right about FL self sabotage. But I think it's exactly the point. The story is also about FL insecurities. ( When she goes to the reunion, she doesn't know what to wear, when she wear the red dress for the shooting, she feel absolutly ackward- very different when she enter as Su Miao) the story shows how the artefact allows her to be somedy different, somebody prettier... And how she deals with the feeling " it's nice to be the prettiest one, but it's not me" When she talks about plastic surgery addicts, she starts to understand that when people only see your appearance, it's also a burden
It takes times to know who you are and what you really want. Not all ugly ducklings turn into swans. There are also very pretty cormorants. Or pelicans.
I don't think she does'nt take life seriously. I think she initially does'nt take HERSELF seriously. And she gains confidence gradually. It is also because TQ specifies what attracts him in her different avatars: courage, altruism, generosity. We must not dissolve in the gaze of others, but we also need it, to better know who we are
( sorry if i'm not clear, english is not my language)
There was only one Su Miao but there are two Fang Jin... Will TQ feel the same attraction with the real one? The difference in personality (and the pheromone theory!) makes me think he'll start to notice that something is fishy (In French, we would say: there's eel under rock/whale under gravel)
This is probably the first time I've found gaslighting so funny and entertaining. Poor TQ! Brillant acting, perfect pace, balance between hilarious moments and more serious parts. Didn't really knew Pu Tao, but she is perfect in this double character. So far, it's really a gem.
That's nothing. Imagine falling off a cliff without any fracture or puncture to your vital organs...and then admitted…
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a cliff only kills bad guys!
as i said, i usually don't pay attention to medical inconsistencies, or i wouldn't watch any dramas anymore But my favorite medical trope is still: the hero continues to fight while being pierced by 12 arrows (or bullets) but squeals in pain when the heroine approaches "the disinfectant that tingle so much"
First, i really like this show. But come on... I'm being chased by an armed lunatic. I take the time to kiss my lover in the light of the car's headlights. And the cops let me go with him without any protection. yeah. well ok, the writers had to find a way to bring in the noble idiocy And it's YYS whom I love since Mr Sunshine. Great job for Chae Su Bin too. And together, they are on fire!
I find this show rather engaging but one thing prevents me from being completely into it. LE ML is described as a calculating and wise man but he keeps so many traitors and morons around him? Apart from that, I still love Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning with tenderness
ahem... Being grateful and being in love ARE completely different. Getting married (or staying married) because…
We could discuss for hours the notion of marriage of convenience (it was supposed to last 3 months) and marriage of love ... But the real question would be: why continue watching a drama in which the heroine exasperates you to this point? PS: I am a doctor too.

Well... still not convinced! For now, even if they are in love each on their own, they are not a loving couple. They have not promised each other anything. She is not responsible for the sacrifices he has chosen to make, that she has not asked him to make. If I save your life (I was trained to do that) does that give me rights over you? spoiler: no. nope nope nope. Again, gratitude and love are not the same. And if I were the hero, I would want the second, not the first. But honestly, I am not worried about the heroes of the drama. I am worried that people think that you have to stay with someone because he or she made sacrifices. Such a common trap. Every day.
I'm an easy audience, so I'll continue a little, but I struggle to keep up the romance thread when I laugh too much.
And now, (ep 14) we reach the point: cyclosporine, who cares?
-Stitching an old infected wound? A highway to gangrene.

She knew exactly what to do
A pseudonym to fool him
She couldn't have made a worst move
She sent him scented letters
And he received them with a strange delight..."
