I agree that the demographic for this drama is obviously younger individuals. Visuals are truly insufficient to sustain a drama, and those concerned with chemistry / kissing moments and a lack of plot have me side-eyeing them so hard. I've seen so many posts here and on other platforms where people say this drama is perfect and they back it up with "I'm just a girl" and how they want a fluffy kdrama to take away their worries, not make them think too deeply or be depressed, and I think that's ironic given how many episodes made people frustrated and sad. They say they don’t want a drama that’s true to life so imo the fantasy tag makes the most sense. I've also seen folks saying they bawled in a lot of episodes (I didn't cry at all). They're entitled to their opinion, but lol... I completely disagree with so many of their statements.
I don't think BWS is a horrible actor; he may be novice, but he certainly has a chance to improve. I'm surprised you said that the director choreographed practically everything as I was not aware of this fact. I agree that an experienced actor would not require as much direction. A good actor can take the most basic scene/script directions and turn them into something wonderful. I think that having too many supporters might be a negative thing, since one wrong move and it's over 😭 So true, many people believe Sunjae is the same as BWS, which could not be more false. Also, I'm against shipping actors; I'm not sure whether I said this previously. I only ship characters. It's unusual for two performers to become a couple in real life, as Binjin has done (this is so rare imo) I don't expect it, and I think it's funny how everyone always ships BWS with his co-stars, but I also believe the actors lean into it for publicity and to keep frenzied fans tuned in. I can always see straight through the facade, therefore it's neither here nor there for me. People need to stop reading into things and projecting their feelings into them. I can't image waking up every day under pressure to like my costar. I get the impression that he “could” like KHY bc he was wrapped up in the filming but I don’t think she feels the same. She just seems to immerse herself in the role and that’s it. It seems to me she can separate fiction from reality and is not trying to blur the lines.
I believe KHY is typecast for these webtoon-to-drama conversions. My friend claims that the character of Sol was created with her in mind (which, in my opinion, makes no difference). I just think the role is too juvenile for her and, as you mentioned, puts her back. I feel horrible that persons are comparing her to her co-stars, but it's clear that a lot of these people just hype the males because they're attractive and because they can see themselves with the character. After learning how much she was overshadowed, I began to dislike BWS a little. I hope she gets greater parts in the future.
I'm pleased this comment section can be a safe space for you to vent. I agree with many of your points and slightly disagree with others, but that's okay. Overall, I understand and really appreciate your viewpoint!
Thank you again, for leaving this feedback. It means a lot to know that other people feel the same way I did haha 😂❤️
I completely concur that the drama needed to embrace its slice-of-life theme and that both of the leads—especially Sunjae—needed a better backstory or trauma. Like you, I was searching for a more in-depth explanation for why he exhausted himself in the first timeline ans an idol, a better reason for his depression and what led to the fall out between him and his best friend. Additionally, I anticipated a storyline twist in which 2ML or his closest friend would be revealed as the murderer but the writers didn’t even explore that at all or throw us for a loop. There was no suspense at all—just a very clear-cut, one-dimensional serial killer with the sole intention of killing both leads. It was so frustrating watching this story as each episode led no where. The plot was literally a circle, as one of my other friends pointed out; I think those who are making it sound intricate or deep are doing too much lol.
Omg, I can't thank you enough for stating all of this since you put my feelings exactly into words. This comment makes me feel less alone, and I'm delighted to learn that there are others (though few) that feel the same way ❤️
Lol I don't blame you at all... the plot is unnecessarily dragged out.
No like this is actually making me tear up… to think just even one person or a few persons appreciate my reviews!!! It means the worlddd to me 🥺❤️
THANK YOU!!!
They are simply talking about where majority of fans are from and that they are the ones controlling the ratings on many of these platforms. Also these are not assumptions if they are listing numbers and facts about the demographics.
This dramatics are so unnecessary. They were talking to each other... look at the @ usernames
Read the comment under this users review. The person is insulting them bc they can't believe they gave QoT a 9.5/10 and LR a 6/10
We are talking about other dramas bc that's where our convo led. We are not comparing those dramas with LR? Please be fr.
I think you're trying to make something out of nothing... and it's really not that serious.
The point is people can like/dislike many different dramas and people shouldn't be judged for it.
If you went to their review you'd see the person came to their comment section and was trying got invalidate their opinion because he rated QoT high and LR low. When like you said – why are people comparing dramas in the first place. They are entirely different genres too. The person is literally saying the same thing you did LOL
