I will say.. I feel like the filter is too heavy on August or they are using far too much makeup on him.. also I'm surprised how weak the acting is from both given that they are both meant to be established actors.
it's interesting to me that all these ''woke'' ppl didn't have the same energy with barcode and jeff.. when barcode was 17 when he did KinnPorsche... but anyway solid first episode...
interesting to see that the show is heavily focusing on the military aspect from the start .. not even the OG series got so deep into it when it aired.
I just can't connect with Taishin as a character.. something is off. being over 17 and not knowing what feelings is and being confused by everything.. no one is that naive sorry.
nothing is gonna top the masterpiece that was Stay With Me.. but I'm excited for this and hoping Thailand can be the first country to actually wrap up the storyline.
I kinda disagree you could like someone and still want the best for them even if the feelings aren’t reciprocated.…
I agree with that part.. but I feel like all of his friend advice was just highlighting all the negatives about Shun.. we can't sit back and ignore that he didn't have a reason for that.
Ikuo is the villain y'all wanted SHUN to be... secretly acting like he cares about your relationship and is only doing it because he is your friend but he is really praying for your downfall. Ikuo at the end of the episode proves nothing he did prior was genuine
I know a lot of ppl didn't understand Shun's personality but I can relate to him so much.. the anxiety and the walls he has built up is so relatable to so many ppl who have dealt with trauma and abandonment issues.
I hope more countries do real shows like this again with real people in the community.. this was so needed in these times and I hope we get more seasons in the future.
I recommend all BL fans to watch 'The Boyfriend'' on Netflix.. it is so good. Shun is such a multilayered person. A lot of ppl were saying he was a villain b4 I watched it. Shun is so relatable to me and I understand him completely and the walls he has up based on his childhood which was not easy. I'm rooting for them and their happiness so much.
