Supposedly 12-3 but people said tencent took the trailer down, so I'm not sure. It doesn't have an english name, but it seems to be called "仙尊今天洗白了吗" --I found the youtube trailer where someone translated btw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJqjkAcFZZ8
Same. I'm still not sure what happened. Everyone said this was "S Level" (I'm not sure specifically what that means but it seemed to imply "big budget"), but the moment the cast was officially announced, there has been nothing but bad headline after bad headline about the production. TGCF is huge, they wouldn't have lost money on this project with a bigger budget.
This is one of my biggest fears, and a while ago, I was certainly worried that production would make changes since they were still filming. I'm currently watching "Birth of drama king," and that production made the two BL leads brothers, with one of them apparently getting a female love interest in the end, so it's certainly within the realm of possibility. With how high-profile "Eternal Faith" is, I think they would probably be better shelving this product than releasing a version with hetero changes.
But on a hopeful note, I've been watching Twitter and Instagram for daily updates since August or July, and so far, no pictures have dropped of Xie Lian or Hua Cheng filming (let alone interacting) with female co-stars. Even the male actors for Shi Qingxuan and He Xuan are predominantly filming scenes together and the same for their female counterparts. In fact, despite the low budget and how that will affect certain fantastical sequences, everything feels authentic to the book. Even netizens who raised alarm bells on the director and department heads leaving, the budget being slashed, etc., haven't said anything about female love interests being added.
Heaven forbid they cut out Huacheng's signature "gege" name calling. If the worst does come to fruition, it is…
I'm taking comfort that we are getting the English novel for this series. Heaven's official's blessing is real! Not just a collective fever dream we all shared. I hope other danmei series can get an English licensed so that they can be preserved in face of the censorship going on.
This whole situation is getting ridiculous. Its getting painful watching censorship pervade Chinese entertainment. For the past few months, I've seen people make little comments here or there defending or justifying censorship, but it really is a destructive path.
As long as they keep filming, I'll remain hopeful that one day I'll see this. I just hope that when all is said an done, they don't add a female love interest to make this more acceptable in China. With all the changes they'll have to make due to the budget and the restrictions of doing live action, adding a female love interest will make this no longer Heaven Official's Blessing
I wonder what the ending of the drama is going to look like.
When I first read TGCF, I always thought the part where the heavens turn into a giant transformer, and Xie Lian's giant statue showed up was unfilmable. What do you guys think?
After postponing the release of immortality for so long I'm not optimistic on seeing this drama for at least two…
Same, but I always expected to see this drama in 2023 anyway... That said, with the fear that this show might not ever see the light of day, I'm just gonna watch as many leaks as possible.
I feel like there was a rumor months ago before they even began filming that the director had left. I wonder if there was something to those initial rumors and it was decided he would stay on for the first few months of filming before handing the production off.
