There will be more seasons for this drama just like Grey's, coz there are plenty of stories to tell in a medical drama. I hope that in the ff seasons of DR tho, writers would introduce a special person for Kim sabu. If Kim hye su comes back as a lover and head of trauma center, it's even better. Lol. The firefly scene w/the old lady is so sad to watch. At the end of the day, it just sucks to be alone. So for now, Dong ju will have to fill in. My bias for that role is still Lee Young Jo(KHS) her credentials fit that role perfectly coz she's with doctors w/o borders and she's the first love. 😉
This drama is in a class of its own. Do watch it now. You might regret putting it off for a long time. I've just finished watching it and I can say that the production value of this is quite high. It's just way up there. The sparse dialogues doesn't make it boring, it actually intensified the emotions that are evoked in some scenes. I also find it amazing how each emotional scene doesn't have to be drowned out by an ost to convey a heart wrenching moment nor it should spew out a string of cliched lines in order to help viewers resonate with the characters and their situations. I subjectively believe that the aim of the writer is for the viewer to immerse in the characters' feelings and to experience for a brief moment in each episode what it is to be in their situation. The drama's message is way too profound that to use empathy to connect with viewers is too shallow and disrespects the humanity in all of us. Well, that's my take on this. But then again, please do watch this drama. I really want to see more dramas like this and I hope Netflix will continue to produce this type of Korean content with the same quality it has now for years to come.
Lee Do Hyun's portrayal of a 35 year-old 'trapped' in a 7 year-old boy is off putting. I don't feel as if he is…
A 7 year old kid would rather call MinJoo, "noona" than "minjoo-ssi". Yes, it is a plot hole that's hard to miss but I believe we weren't just used to seeing adults acting like a 7yo in everyday life. When we do so, it will always feel cringey esp. if it's forced. I've seen a fair share of 7yo's in my life due to my profession and many are actually mature when adults talk to them, esp. If they grew up in a dysfunctional and difficult household. It is during play though that you start to see kid's age differences and it becomes more obvious when surrounded by their peers in a similar setting.
Definitely... Mi Joo deserves more screen time. they've given her a lot of potential, yet so little time to show…
Agree! I really wanna see more of her because the character is so inspiring. She's the kind of woman rarely seen in this era. 😂. And I sometimes kind of want to emulate her for being everything I'm not. 😆
Yang Se Jong is such a gem to discover in this drama. I saw him first in Dr. Romantic and delved into his filmography out of curiousity. And I'm not surprised that I became a fan of his after this. I hope to see more of him in other genres that would showcase his versatility as an actor. For me, he was the anchor in this drama. The police ml and the prosecutor, my goodness. I'd rather not comment. The plot holes are forgivable but still there are a lot of them that it's difficult to forgive them all. 😆 In the end, I stayed for yang se Jong's character coz, heck, it was enough reason to stay.
This was dubbed in my local language except for the singing parts. It was so refreshing to watch Suzy in a historical genre as this is my first. Is this really based on a real historical figure? Coz I still can't get it on my mind- the age gap that is. It's still unsettling for me.
I'm extremely sure that this drama will be nominated in the 60th baeksang. It deserves to be. I would be very disappointed if it won't. Ra mi ran's interpretation of a good bad mother is amazing. She irks and frustrates me at some point at the same time sympathizes w/her and then suddenly makes me cry or be happy with her. It was fascinating how a character can stir up multiple emotions in you in a single episode. And Lee do hyun is in the running for that actor nomination, no doubt about that. The script is incredibly good as well. Mi Joo is also an amazing character to play with. I hope to see more of her to shine in the last 4 eps. I wonder why this is just a 14 eps run.
It was an interesting watch. And was pleasantly surprised with Suzy's interpretation of Anna. I like the vibe and cinematography of this series. The mood felt natural to me instead of being forced into it. I know some wouldn't agree but I find the story immersive because I find that psychological thrillers are ought to be like that. Overall, despite some loopholes in the story, this was a note-worthy watch.
Maybe by a drama god miracle because it look the poll when into his hand and recovering from nerve damage and…
He might just go to US like Dr. Yoon and is a no-show for a few seasons. And then who knows might come back again. Lol. Anything is possible in dramas.
Hmmm well one thing i know… now, they have more budget to do such bigger scenes. Glad to know that They’re…
I was in high school when grey's anatomy aired and it was such a big hit in school at that time. I never thought another medical drama can compare. I'm definitely wrong though. I'm glad we have Dr. Romantic.
Personally, if they are planning to kill off a main character like woojin this season (as long as it isn't Kim sabu since he IS THE Dr.romantic), I'll find it even more interesting. It also means that: this drama can go to more than 5 seasons. A special/spin-off mini series of woojin's premed personal life is also a good idea. Lol. Nway, deaths of main roles adds a realistic approach to the humanity of doctors and the people who work in this field. No matter how amazing one is in his profession, when you're time is up, it's actually up. And there is always the excitement of getting to know new characters and their backstories.
Amazing projects under your belt Lee do hyun. After I watched your part in hotel de Luna, I made it a point to watch your other works and it didn't disappoint. You choose your projects well- and it's a great fan service for showing your versatility as an actor. I hope your agency manages you well too.
Waaahh! It's Dr. Yoon and Dr. Do! I'm 😯 to see them both star in this drama. I hope the story is interesting. For the love of yang se jong I'll be watching this. 😂
I love how this drama was written. It was so well-thought out. These dramas are the reason why I chose kdramas in the first place. No overly sexual scenes just to convey intimacy, no slapstick comedy to be funny, no messy, confusing subplots to keep you interested till the end, no cringe-worthy lines and situations just to exploit the romance, and no loose ends. Life is already random, boring, and messy as we know it and these dramas are sometimes our only means of escape and maintaining our sanity. I'm glad I found this. I'll be looking out for the other projects of Jo Sung hee (writer) and Jo sung Won (director) for now.
I really want to see more dramas like this and I hope Netflix will continue to produce this type of Korean content with the same quality it has now for years to come.
