I'm following up on a post I wrote previously. I just rewatched the first episode this time on a much larger screen than my phone. I want to amend what I said earlier. Earlier I stated I liked Dunk in the role of Style but after watching it again, I LOVE Dunk in the role of Style, I think he did great. (I'm not here to debate acting levels with the many aficionados here, I'm just stating what I enjoyed.) I think he can bring so much more crazy to the role and I hope he does, he was hilarious. I enjoyed this much better than the University roles which are so prevalent in BL. And to add another note on Dunk, he looked hot as AF.
His waist and that crop top already have their own fandom. 😁
I definitely agree. I watched an interview with Dunk and he said Style's wardrobe was the most extensive out of all the characters. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
I've read most of the reviews here and I agree with some, disagree with others.
Let me say, up front, I like Style. I like the way he is being portrayed. Could someone else do better? Always. There is always someone better. No matter who has the role. But it seems Dunk is doing ok in this role. He certainly is bringing the crazy vibe to it. And after the University roles, I'm thrilled to see this one. Is it perfect? No, but then again, as I have said many different times, I'm not looking for an Oscar award winning performance.
I love the relationship, both on screen and off, that is FirstKhao. I cannot say enough good things about them.
Now, who does deserve an Oscar for their performance is Joong and not for his portrayal of Fadel, although he is excellent. He should get an Oscar for being able to articulate complete sentences while Dunk is actively, and aggressively, flirting with him. Heck, Dunk in a crop top almost rendered him catatonic. So massive kudos to him for being able to hold his own. 🤣
I've been waiting for this show ever since the clips on YouTube came out with the "Dad Jokes." This is supposed to be a light. fluffy drama and this is what I am expecting, but, yes there is a "but."
The scene towards the end, the one at the bar, where Oh and his friends clearly violate consent, this doesn't belong in a fluffy drama, unless they plan to address it, which I cannot tell if they will or they won't. Of course grabbing someone one and trying to force yourself on them is assault. FFS Charn explained it perfectly in episode two in "Laws of Attraction" I know, I know, heavy for a light and fluffy drama but I didn't write the script and I'm not willing to turn a blind eye to it. I'm hoping to at least see a "Hey a%&hole, we told you he didn't drink and you lied to him and got him drunk anyway." I'm not sure this is going to happen though. There are other ways for this type of trope to be set up. I just have a feeling it will devolve into a "he's really not your boyfriend" and forget about everything I mentioned above, time will tell.
Am I taking this too seriously? Perhaps I am. I'm going to continue to watch it and we'll see what happens. My fingers are crossed.
Totally agree with u ...i think they changed the original ending of the novel
From what I understand (I haven't read it) Mas moves to another country and returns later and begins a relationship with a much younger man. It is assumed, I believe, that Panjan is Khen reincarnated. The ending did not follow the ending of the book. I think we can all agree on that.
Read @ashesinthewind's comment below (about four down from mine), I think this is right on. Khen made the whole story up (he creates content) and I'm pretty sure none of the five are dead. There really is no other explanation as to how Mas and his family got into the video for the house. Khen met up with the hot guy from the library and asked him to portray Mas. (or they became boyfriends) The editor received the email from Khen cause he isn't dead. She was probably waiting due to a deadline. And when asked who is finishing up after the original team, there is no sadness in her face to indicate they died. Wow! If this is in fact what did actually happen, I'm gonna need more stars, ten isn't enough for me to rate this accurately, cause damn, I did not see that coming.
Questions:If they were all dead, on the first night they received a phone call from their manager. Did they imagine…
I'll give you some answers, I don't have all. Tin, the guy Mas and Khen saw when they went to float the Krathong is dead. Mas could see him, as could Khen and Tin could see Khen, no one else could see Khen except Mas. Auntie Jiam was someone hired to look after the five of them while they were there, she didn't have to go back to house after they all died. At one point in the story Namwah couldn't get new information on her phone. Khen also wasn't looking for news on his computer as much as he was showing Mas the article he wrote. The house had really nothing to do with the inability for them to leave. As much as I could make out, they were stuck there because they died there and hadn't moved on and that was the last place in their memories. - my interpretation As far as Bing being able to no longer see spirits, that was never explained, maybe someone else has a theory. I went back and took a quick look at ep. 1, they spoke with the manager before the accident. They died on the second night, which would have been after their first full day at the house. I hope this helps and if anyone has differing views please I'm just as interested in hearing.
because I'm confused, can someone explain episode 9 to me, what exactly happened?
Everyone of the five who were in the car accident now know they are dead. Mas almost died because of his constant proximity to Khen as well as their alone time. The female ghost wasn't Kampuan, it was Sompoh, who was actually in love with Kampuan, not Kampuan's husband, so plot twist there.
Homophobia? Probably the same reason for "planking sex" where one guy planks over the other rather than having…
Honestly, I have no idea if they are or not. But people who are gay can have internalized homophobia. Then again it could be whoever is producing it also, or whatever company is behind it. Or the person is just not a great director. I did look at their body of work, they have some hits and misses so I honestly have no clue why.

When you watch episode 4, have tissues, lots of them, you have been warned.
