I wanna watch this because of Jeon Gook Hwan. Does anyone know where to watch it, and is it really a "ten"?

I really like him! So sad he nevered really played main roles.

I struggle to understand this thought process as well, but keep in mind, that it happend almost 100 years in the past. Times are changing and even our reasoning will most likely not be understood in the year 2122.

I watched:
As One, Hot Young Bloods, I Hear Your Voice, Doctor Stranger, Pinocchio, W, Romance is a Bonus Book and am watching Hymn to Death and Big Mouth. ;)
My opinion is well shaped and he has to do quite a lot in his career to convince me.

I will watch his work, since most of it is above average, but that doesn't make him a good actor in the sense, that he can show emotions through bodylanguage, show different face expressions or depict different characters through different bodylanguage, speech and mimics and so on. That, he clearly can't.

But yes, I will watch VIP maybe someday in the future. ^^

I'm NOT an Anti-Fan. :D I just happened to just watch many of his shows and he didn't convince me ever. I always thought: "Everyone is saying he's good, so he must be good" but honestly, I watch Big Mouth atm and Hymn to Death parallel and he does exactly the same in both shows. Yes, he can do his stuff, but nothing else.
As you all do it as well, I want to say my opinion, and that's what comments are for. Also, I wrote exactly this comment above, so I'm far from "anti". I just formulate my opinion and you can't handle that.

I see your point, but that's not good acting, that's 1 signature move which he shows in every show, so no difference even if he plays a different character. He basically plays always the same character and can't transport emotions.

Yes, he is good in front of cameras, but he can't do different things or show emotions.

He is all looks, but has no skill. His only "acting" he can do is smile/smirk and put his hands in his pockets. That's it

true. The problem is the revenge and the business thing. I would have prefered, if it revolved more around the DanBam Pub and stuff happening there.
Also, the enemy was really annoying. Especially because he always said with a non-convincing face: "뭐?"

So, I'm currently in Seoul and found by accident the DanBam Pub near Namsan-Mountain. Yes, it exists and it looks still the same as in this show and it's quite a popular place for locals to take some pictures, be on a date or enjoy the cityscape. (it's a really pretty view, especially when the weather is nice and the sun sets)

Unfortunatley, the food there isn't quite up to the shows or the locations expectation. It's rather expensive, the ingredients (especially the meat) are only soso and if you want to eat on the rooftop, you get a cheap take out box.

If you are in Seoul, check it out, but I can't recomment the pub itself for it's food. :( Maybe you try some other restaurants close by.
Also, I can confirm: The location is in the middle of nowhere. But that's typical for Korea. You find restaurants everywhere, and someone always shows up to eat there. ^^

true, but that wasn't my question. ;) What's the critical rating, for different shows in korean TV? Is 10% much? Do shows exist with 20 or 30% rating? I don't know, so it would be beneficial if something like this is stated in the above article.
Otherwise I must be in awe, because a 2-digit rating must be godlike, because it's worth an article.

child actors were good, but nothing happend all the time. I fast forwarded many scenes. 1h/episode is way too long.
Try Empress Ki. Best historical drama I know. It has everything: historical costumes, a women in disguise, action, romance, politics and a well written story line for over 50h watch time!

8.x is not bad at all? For me, the ratings on this side works quite well. If something has a rating higher than 8.0 and the setting appeals to me, the show works for me.

what the fuck XD I know only 1 nation which is so disgustingly brutal in their minds, that they came up with something like this.

It's somehow "good", but tbh something like this shouldn't have been filmed. It implies that brutality is an option and (to some degree) even a valid one. (I mean: He shot him with a nail gun in his testicles and then went on by smashing his face with brass knucles)
