it was sooo easy to fall in love with these characters and the storyline. fmc is not a damsel in distress but a clever young lady who wants the best for her people, and mmc is not only the cold, broody warlord he gets taken for. their ability and will to work on their relationship was so amazing and healthy to witness.

manman is love, manman is life, manman is the g.o.a.t. it's been a good while since i've loved a characters this much tbh *but* i also really liked wei shao, and the two of them together? unstoppable 10/10 they had so many iconic scenes

some scenes didn't have as much impact as i thought they would (or should) have, which is why i gave 9.5/10. but it didn't take away any joy from watching this drama. sometimes the timespan was a bit confusing and i wish we'd have more episodes so that the ending didn't feel so rushed, but it seems like that's a problem i have with every drama?? overall story is a 10/10

loved the soundtrack. especially THE OPENING ... absolute peak !
