i am a happy customer!!!! <3
it was sooo easy to fall in love with these characters and the storyline. fmc is not a damsel in distress but a clever young lady who wants the best for her people, and mmc is not only the cold, broody warlord he gets taken for. their ability and will to work on their relationship was so amazing and healthy to witness.manman is love, manman is life, manman is the g.o.a.t. it's been a good while since i've loved a characters this much tbh *but* i also really liked wei shao, and the two of them together? unstoppable 10/10 they had so many iconic scenes
some scenes didn't have as much impact as i thought they would (or should) have, which is why i gave 9.5/10. but it didn't take away any joy from watching this drama. sometimes the timespan was a bit confusing and i wish we'd have more episodes so that the ending didn't feel so rushed, but it seems like that's a problem i have with every drama?? overall story is a 10/10
loved the soundtrack. especially THE OPENING ... absolute peak !

i loved the main couple's chemistry, and the characters themselves!! the journey they had to take both individually and as a couple put me through all the emotions AND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL
also deng kai with the silverblonde wig 😚 b y e e e e
the soundtrack was nice and i really liked the costumes!
the plot had some faults and i felt like everything was super rushed towards the end, which left me a little unsatisfied. there were some minor issues like the drama taking place in a very snowy setting, yet the characters rarely wearing proper coats (meanwhile the windows are kept open all night). i didn't think that the the face swap was very noticeable but ever since i learned about it, i can't say i'm happy about it. but in the end, the overall feeling while watching was "this is soo good, i like it soo much ahh" so. yeah ✌🏻

warming up to fmc took a me while, as i was frustrated with her approach and decisions for some time, but eventually grew to like her. ji bozai on the other hand was an instant favourite. i was intrigued by his character and motifs right from the start, and he only proved why i liked him as time progressed.
on the other hand, they could've done more with the second antagonists' character, he was very one-dimensional? which was very sad! the finale/conclusion was over in the blink of an eye, i had hoped for something of more impact, given what was at stake. the world-building fell a bit flat and the lore could've been expanded more, but it was fine. a few minor issues that went "too well but had to happen for the plot sake i guess", but nothing that took me out of the experience too much.
loved the costumes and use of vfx! the battle scenes were so cool. plus the soundtrack was very good and fitting, i loved 若你的世界没有暖阳 (theme of fate and redemption) especially!!!

i loved how frustrating it was to see the main characters communicate and operate around each other! it was refreshing and interesting. those evil puppy eyes!! 🥲however, i didn't like how the script handled the suicide of one of flora's best friends (very cliché narrative about depressions) and the grief that followed after. it didn't feel genuine at all to me and was over too fast. i'm not sure if it's just the script and editing or the actors, nevertheless i was disappointed.
it would have been more interesting to see luke and flora's relationship slowly develop properly after their fallout, yet that didn't happen. the ending was rushed, and the memory hall was so kitschy. it didn't do the relationship justice. but i liked the hide and seek of a forbidden workplace relationship, and think that was well done!
tldr; it started off very promising but lost its spark about a quarter before the ending
