Beautifully said. I too, was struggling with how he abandoned NN as that is further emotionally crippling act. However, while I was rewatching earlier episodes and watched his expressions more carefully, I understood how hauntingly lonely he was. If looking through contemporary lens then it is hard to excuse his behaviours but if looking through the tragic lives and cultural environment of those times then I find myself softening my stance as who is not human to want a chance at happiness. Loved some of your descriptions.... I have yet to read the novel and have set myself a different pace from the Tencent schedule so that I can enjoy an episode a day while keeping up with everyone's comments. If only.....are known as two of the most saddest words in the English language.

I watched Sleeping Princess BEFORE I knew it was ZYC.......that was love and devotion. Sassy Princess... I struggled with the editing of the story which seemed choppy and the FL seemed vacuous so she was not worthy of ZYC imo. He was brilliant in SW and showcased he could really act - he needs better scripts!
