Are we on the same track now? The other commenter and I were talking that it would be nice to show this at the end of the series - include the Epilogue.

Remember Wei Yinglo and Fuca Fuheng and their unrequited love for 70 episodes....fans clamored for another show that would reunite them happily. Networks agreed....five years later Royal Feast, fans came and quite a few were disappointed. Beautiful costumes but thats about it.
Yet, there was a 10 year break between Wallace Chung and Li Xiao Ran. They were inToo Late to say I love you (2012) and in 2022 completed Because of Love which was better received than above. Different story and genre.
I guess theres always a risk for the actors to pair up again to match audiences expectations.

Your narrative is always compelling and a joy to read. I particularly like your references to English literature which I'm more familiar with. I would love to find out more on Chinese literature but not even guessing how to begin. I enjoy how you explain the characters conflicts, motivations and settings from your perspective.
If we had to talk about decision making, lack of which led to this particular story element, we could take the viewpoint that CSS took a risk, went with a partial solution and made improvements as she went along and knew it was a priority. These are all positives whereas CP was fearful of being wrong, he was cautious and procrastinated and needed participation ( wife and LBY). These are all negative themes for a poor decision maker.
Anyhow, please keep these ramblings coming as they are a delight.
