Ah Chou ( real wei rao) is the real noble lady. But for some reason she was abandoned by the family and replaced with Jundai (fake wei rao) at a very young age. So Jundai has been living as wei rao, who has an arranged marriage with Lu Zhao. But she doesn't want to marry him. So she finds Ah Chou (real wei rao), her lookalike and asks her to take her place and marry Lu zhao. So, Ah chou being the real wei rao ends up marrying Lu zhao.
damn i wish i could see the trailer in english subtitles. anyway, watched the trailer. Absolute goosebumps, she is definitely very versatile. And that unhinged aura of Jundai is so on point that feels creepy and scary at the same time
that's why i have a beef with the screenwriter because what the heck

Like- 1) the separation period they go through when xie breaks up, and how gentle and emotional that break up was, just pure sadness and guilt, no anger or hatred or yelling. the yearning and angst that follows it 2) xie zheng willingly asking for 108 lashes as punishment from his family so that he could go back and win changyu back 3) him coming face to face with her after the separation and saying how he regrets his decision, the emotional backlash changyu faces as she crumbles and breaks down aghhhhh so many emotional and beautiful scenes we could have had. I wanted them to show how Changyu starts from the bottom at the military base, earning her way to the top, her training the squad, we could have had a few more epic fight scenes The wooden doll she learns to carve for xie zheng because he was jealous that she had given songyan something like that in the past. She never gets a chance to give it to him because he breaks up and practically steals the half made wooden doll lol

Recently started to like GYJ too, loved her in Can this love be translated. To see fans attack each other over a show that came 4 years ago is childish and stupid. Agreed. This drama had everything. Amazing talented actors, one of the best directors and when i saw the screenwriter was the same as Love like the Galaxy, i was excited. That is why it shocks me that they changed such pivotal storylines from the novel. I could still accept the change but that rush/poor writing from ep 29-40, disappointed me. I have no complains other than that the screenwriter did not do a good job.

I cant decide if this was a good idea or not. For novel readers like me, we enjoy scenes like that but I am not sure how the rest would have taken literally seeing a forceful bite like that on screen.
