You did a great job in analysis, but I'm still confused what their relation is actually?
I don't think it's clear one way or the other in S1. Since there is evidence for both sides, I feel like viewers can pick the interpretation that they prefer.
I started watching thinking first 2 in the casting list are ML & FL (YZ & ZWY) . BUT HALF WAY through i saw her…
S2 won't air until next year. Cang Xuan is considered the male lead, but he will not end up with Xiao Yao. Xiao Yao cares deeply about Cang Xuan, but Cang Xuan's romantic feelings for her are not requited.
The King of Haoling (aka the Emperor of Gao Xing / the Grand Emperor / the White Emperor) suspected that the person…
iirc, XY took the mirror from the nine-tailed fox who held her captive for thirty years. She didn’t meet him until a while after escaping from Jade Mountain, so the manuals had long been destroyed by the time she got her hands on the gorilla spirit mirror.
The King of Haoling (aka the Emperor of Gao Xing / the Grand Emperor / the White Emperor) suspected that the person…
In the novel, she doesn't. The Royal Mother of Jade Mountain recognizes how dangerous they are. She makes XY memorize their contents and then destroys them. I assume XY also wouldn't have them when she left Jade Mountain in the drama, but I haven't re-watched that scene to look for it.

I'm rewatching and noticed that the Herb Manual and Poison Manual are shown with XY's mother at 24 minutes and 33 seconds into episode 1. We see XY's mother put the manuals inside a jade pendant, and we also see her false pinky finger (which CX explains in chapter 38 of the novel). Later we see XY's mother give the jade pendant to XY 28 minutes and 7 seconds into the episode.
Yes, there is one female lead and three main male characters.
XY is the female lead. CX is generally referred to as the first male lead, TSJ is generally referred to as the second male lead, and XL is generally referred to as the third male lead.
In addition to what the synopsis says, the story begins with XY and CX’s childhood. Then it takes us to Qingshiui town, and later to Haoling and Xiyan. XY and CX are the main characters and the story mostly follows their path as CX seeks power in order to be able to protect the people he cares about. TSJ is XY’s most straightforward love interest (keep in mind that it’s a reverse harem drama). XL’s role is complicated and important.
Xiao Yao - The eldest Princess of Haoling and the granddaughter of the Yellow Emperor (the King of Xiyan). Rumour has it, she is also connected to the conquered kingdom of Chengrong.
Wen Xiao Liu - A male doctor who runs a clinic in Qingshiui town. He specializes in fertility medicine and making poisons.
Cang Xuan - A grandson of the Yellow Emperor and Xiao Yao’s cousin, but they refer to each other as brother and sister. He is sent as a hostage to Haoling as a guarantee that Xiyan will not invade Haoling (and to give him some protection from his plotting uncles).
Master Xuan - A man who wanders into Qingshiui with an agenda and sets up a wine shop.
Ye Shi Qi - A victim of torture who is healed by Wen Xiao Liu and becomes his servant.
Tushan Jing - The second son of the powerful and wealthy Tushan clan based in Qing Qiu in Xiyan (in the part that was formerly Chenrong before it was conquered). He was in line to become the next clan leader, but disappeared before his wedding to Fang Feng Yi Ying.
Fang Feng Bei - The concubine-born second son of the Fang Feng family, a lower level clan from the north of Xiyan that specializes in archery. He is Fang Feng Yi Ying’s brother. He has a reputation as a playboy and vagrant.
Xiang Liu - A sea snake demon with nine heads and nine lives. He is a fierce warrior and military strategist for Chenrong’s remnant army, which is led by General Hong Jiang and based in the mountains outside Qingshiui town.
Chishui Feng Long - A descendant of the Chenrong royal family. His grandfather was a general who died for Chenrong. His father surrendered to Xiyan and governs the Middle Plains. His mother is from the prominent Chishui clan. Unlike his sister, Chenrong Xin Yue, he took his mother’s family name and he will one day become the next Chishui clan leader.
For a second I read this as "can anyone recommend me a drama that has chemistry and story similar to Feng Long…
For clarity, my comments above are all very much in jest.
In the novel, XL and Ah Nian have less interaction between chapter 29 and chapter 51 than they do in the first 28 chapters.
In the first 28 chapters (and in S1), Ah Nian meets XL briefly when WXL kidnaps her to get CX to agree to return the medicine for the Sheng Nong remnant army (that TSJ procured and that CX stole) to XL. She meets him again after XY regains her true form. XL tells Ah Nian he'll teach XY a lesson for her in exchange for a promise.
In chapter 48 of the novel, we learn that XL used that promise to get Ah Nian to send his clam shell to Jade Mountain to extend XY's life before he could get to her to revive her. Ah Nian carried out that task well, and kept XL's secret.
From what we've heard about the leaked script, XL won't use the promise to get Ah Nian to deliver his clam shell to Jade Mountain and will instead use it to get Ah Nian (rather than Sir Bi) to give the big-bellied laughing doll to XY as her wedding gift.

No I can really picture it. We know from chapter 31 that Ah Nian finds XL "pretty fascinating". XL is great at sweet talking Ah Nian, and Ah Nian (to her credit) does a great job of keeping her promises and keeping secrets for him. Since the people they love are hung up on other people and have different priorities, why not let them become besties who swim off together? It makes more sense than XL x FL at least ^^
For a second I read this as "can anyone recommend me a drama that has chemistry and story similar to Feng Long…
I was VERY confused. When did they have chemistry? When FFB interrupted XY and FL's wedding? Or when XL killed FL? Not only are those moments not particularly suited to creating chemistry, they haven't even happened yet!
