Title The Love by Hypnotic Spoiler
Does anybody remember the name of a historical drama where the main leads must kiss (or are compelled to kiss)…
Love Between Fairy and Devil - to swap bodies.
The Blue Whisper: Part 1 - to convince someone they are in a relationship in order to get that person to ally with them instead of killing them.

Title My Sassy Princess Spoiler
Wait so the Princess having a flash back in episode 16 to the ML kissing her underwater is a continuity error right? They never showed an under water kiss in episode 6? I assume that was a deleted scene?

It took til Ep 22 to really excite me. But STILL no PDA. sigh....
"But STILL no PDA." Yeah that's typical for Allen dramas unfortunately.

I agree but it's to be noted that dylan is still adjusting with his accent so let's cut him some slack
No worries and no offence taken. All good.

Sorry, maybe I misread your comment. I was responding to the "but it's to be noted that dylan is still adjusting with his accent so let's cut him some slack" part.

I have no issue with Dylan's accent. So in my view no issue with his accent = nothing to cut him slack for in the first place.

Like I said, no shade towards Dylan at all. I don't speak Mandarin so I have absolutely zero ability to perceive any difference between his Sichuanese accent and the dubber's accent.

I just thought the dubber's deep voice and the commanding weight he brought to each sentence was perfect for the role. Added a really great extra layer on top of Dylan's acting (and the fabulous wardrobe too) to collectively create the final Dongfang Qing Cang package that we got to enjoy.

Watched a video comparing Dylan's dialogue to the dubbing dialogue and (absolutely no shade towards Dylan) the dubber deserves massive credit. He did such a good job and added so much to the character!

This was extremely frustrating from start to finish. I was hoping it might get better after the leads got together, but it didn't. The only reason I finished this drama was to confirm that, since at least it isn't a long drama. The ending itself was just whole extra level of frustrating.

The leads make so many terrible choices that are either irrational or just dumb. The ML's terrible behaviour is not at all justified by the reasons he gives to explain it. And then the He Yuchen curveball in the end was just... why?? That's just some random guy?

In sum, IMO: unlikeable leads and very bad writing. Even the ML's visuals were not good enough to redeem it for me.

Think of it like "I" vs the Royal "We". Your identity doesn't change, rather the intent, intimacy and authority…
Love those details ^^ Thank you!

Can someone explain Dylan's comment from the fan meeting where he said that only in the end does DFQC say "我回来了" (Wǒ huíláile / I'm back) and that throughout the entire show he addressed himself as "Your Emperor" before that. Was he saying that DFQC never referred to himself as "我" (Wǒ) and instead used something like the Royal "We" to refer to himself until that last moment? Does that phrasing mean he no longer considers himself the Moon Supreme? Or is it more like saying it that way makes the phrase more intimate with Orchid (but doesn't mean he no longer sees himself as the Moon Supreme)?

People who did not enjoy a drama are just as entitled to leave a comment about their opinion in the comment section…
Yes, there is a difference. There's a difference between a comment that simply reflects a negative opinion vs. a comment that crosses the line to the point where it is toxic or harmful. Just because a comment reflects a negative view doesn't necessarily make it toxic or harmful by default. "I dropped this because I found the FL's voice too annoying." is a perfectly valid comment, even if you don't share the same opinion.

"Why spread negativity...?" Again, I agree with this sentiment at a certain level, but if reading any comment that isn't positive ruins your day, maybe start your own forum thread where you can gush exclusively with people who also loved the drama instead. The main comment section is not the place where you should expect to exclusively see positive comments.

Similarly, for statements that aren't universal or totally accurate... if someone posts "It's so annoying how actresses in cdramas these days all try to use high-pitched voices to look cute." you can add your own comment to point out that the first comment isn't accurate, or you can read the comment, shrug and move on. If inaccurate universalisms like that ruin your day, an open comment section might not be the best place to focus your time and attention.

Now, if the comment crosses the line into territory that is overtly rude or harmful (insulting other users / comments on body weight / racist comments / etc.) I totally agree that those comments are inappropriate and have no place here or anywhere else on MDL.

I disagree. I've seen plenty of comments on MDL from viewers who didn't like a drama where they were able to articulate their opinion without being disrespectful.

Since recently there have a influx of idiots in this page who just wants to ruin other people enjoyment of the…
People who did not enjoy a drama are just as entitled to leave a comment about their opinion in the comment section as people who did enjoy the drama. In both cases, the only thing that matters is basic decency. Respect everyone's right to their own opinion, hide spoilers, and don't be rude. That's it.

People are entitled to have different opinions about what makes a strong female lead, what they find annoying in a drama, etc. Comments about negative opinions are not bad (and may even be helpful to someone who is trying to decide whether or not to watch the drama) as long as they don't devolve into insults or anything like that.

I liked this drama, but I don't see any problem with someone else adding a comment with a different opinion.

Some funny parallels:

Xiao Lan Hua is the Avatar.

-Her people were peace-loving, neutral and lived on the edge of society before they were all brutally wiped out by the main villain, who was looking for her.
-As a result of the villain's genocide, she is the last of her people.
-Like her people, she is peace-loving / a pacifist. Most of the time she is young, fun-loving and innocent, but in serious moments she is capable of being very serious and determined.
-She is the reincarnation of a powerful figure. Prophecy states that only this figure can save the world, but she vanished just before her people were wiped out. The main villain manipulates tragic figures into looking for her for a very long time. When she returns, she must undergo certain steps to unlock her true power (marrying Chang Heng / mastering the four elements) and then face her destiny: defeating the main villain.
-She does not originally remember her past lives as the Goddess of Xishan.
-She meets an ancient and powerful lion-turtle god.

Dongfang Qing Cang is Inuyasha.

-ML misunderstood as a monster.
-Sealed away for a long time by a dying woman.
-The woman who died after sealing him away is resurrected in a problematic way by a villain.
-Accidentally unsealed by the young FL, who has a magical ability to purify evil and to make the ML obey certain commands.
-Sometimes has white/silver hair, sometimes has black hair.
-When he loses control (and his nails grow into pointed claws), a kiss from the FL restores his mental control and causes his claw-nails to retract.
-The FL must choose between living in his world and returning to her world.
-The ML's relationship with his brother is complicated, partly because of their father's choices and his unique ability to wield a powerful sword.

Title Better Days
Very well done but absolutely brutal. I'm not sure I would've been able to finish it if I hadn't been spoiled on some of the key plot points in advance. But I'm glad I finally managed to watch it.

I enjoyed this drama and never felt like it got draggy or went downhill. I think a big part of that was binge watching it, not reading many comments and managing my expectations. It's also the first time where I felt like I was interested in all of the content covered in the original 16 episodes while still feeling like I wanted to see more. If there is a season 2, I will almost certainly watch.
