this is based on a fictional novel, a fantasy story, and not a documentary so it's not going to be real even though it is based on historical elements of ancient China silk trade...IMHO, these dramas allow us to enter a make believe story for us to explore the characters, their situations and how they manage through them. I think the challenge with this series is they packed action back-to-back so it felt like our leads were bombarded with adversity one right after the other without a break. It they allowed time to develop other aspects of their story, their relationships, then it probably would have been more manageable, rather than angtsy.... just my thoughts here.
