Yeah, I agree... I couldn't get into DW's acting (despite trying really hard). Otherwise, I would have been on both ships TBH, though my favorite would still be XL. I think DW is suited for strong, assertive male roles (and even bad boy/dark characters), not passive, hen-pecked males where subtle micro-expressions are required to tell the story. He's got a pretty face... that's it. I liked him better in Miss the Dragon and thought he did great in that character.

I was thinking the same... as conflicted as I was about TTEOM ending ugh the outcome of XL in LYF is worst... TTJ-LSS was the only CP... they went through hell and back, but they had intimate moments and even produced a love child. Poor XL, my heart breaks for him... 😭

I've always been confused about the Love Bug... I read some reader's comments that the recipients of the bug only feel pain... or when the other person is in danger, but not all their emotions.. it seems too intrusive to be feeling their every emotion, no? If anyone knows, please share... I won't be reading the LYF novel at this point, maybe later (if I change my mind) as I have other novels still ahead on my list to knock out - LLTG and TTEOTM.

If this is any reassurance, in the novel she gets a HE and has children.. It was so cute, so beautiful...

Princess Agent - my all time favorite heroine, story. She , Chu Qiao,rose above the ashes, went to battle for her own ideals (no one elses), had her harem but it wasn't cringey. She had 2 romantic loves... but it wasn't weird IMO, they were different and at different times. I actually liked both the 1Ml and 2ML and would have been happy seeing her with either one. The author writes very well, and goes deep into the psyche of the FL, and I love how each of the men taught the female lead something about herself that she took away... and at the end, she became such a better person, different.... it was so beautifully written the novel. But you have to like history, politics as the writer goes into a lot of detail and has chapters and chapters discussing the different kingdom dynamics.

Yah, I'm sinking.. hopefully, no wars, just healthy banter and discussion to better understand the story, characters, and their motivations....

Oh... I'm sorry. I liked the mask guy too and thought the actor did a great job in that role. I also cried a lot when he died. TBH, I really wasn't watching it for the romance even though JOF was a romance (master-disciple) story. I just felt that Zhao Liying looked so young compared to Wallace in that drama so much so that it was hard for me to envision them as lovers, so I mainly watched for the adventures, trials, and tribulations.. It was only at the end when she transformed to demon that I saw she could actually be his lover.

I came to embrace XL's tragic end cause I thought XY loved him but just couldn't be with him given their opposing background and family situation. but the most recent episodes have lead me to understand otherwise.... I rather he die knowing that she loved him deeply, passionately despite not having it fulfilled in real life (that's all I ask).... that would make the ending more satisfying....

I didn't watch Scarlet Heart, but was actually ok with JOF though I cried buckets at the end... at least there was no harem.
