In the Addicted Heroin (2016), Wu Bi never met Su Yu 's father beforehand.
I wondered how they will handle Su Zhi Gang knowing Wu Bi is wealthy, and why he would hide it from Su Yu. It ended up being because Su Zhi Gang didn't want Su Yu to know he worked as mover. That was quite brilliant.
I honestly don't remember it as being dark, but rather ridiculous.
Two high school kids escaping and going off the gird, and when the gang finally catches up, the kids beat them all up and hold them hostages had me rolling eyes, than feeling afraid for them, or whatever. I never understood how it ended up being such a popular novel.
i really hope wu bi gets more fighting scenes cus damn the martial arts was kinda bomb?? i wonder if the actor…
I consider Word of Honor is one of the greatest gay romantic drama, it doesn't have any kiss scenes. I think a well-done censored adaptation of same-sex original work tends to be more romantic than most uncensored version. The intensity of the chemistry is somehow higher.
I admire Zhou Gao Lang for recognizing that, appointing Zhou Ye as the Crown Prince, and allowing Zhou Ye to rule…
When you watch historical drama, you have to consider the historical judicial system. I believe Zhou Gao Lang was following the Late Emperor's Order to let Fan Yu live idle and rich life. Of course, Late Emperor made that request before Fan Yu sent Zhou family on a death mission, then covered up Luo Zi Shang's massacre of Zhou family, and allowed Luo Zi Shang to create a landslide to kill off the entire Army. In Imperial China, Late Emperor's orders has huge significance.
Late Emperor granted Liu Yu Ru, a protection from Capital Punishment, which can be passed down as hereditary right. It is sounds weird from the modern context, but imagine in the historical context, where the Emperor is believed to have mandate to rule from the "heaven," where collective punishment such as eradication of whole clan was a accepted practice.
Liu Yu Ru didn't and doesn't discriminate based on social status, she treated him as she would treat anyone. But as someone, who was treated either treated as bastard child or beggar, Liu Yu Ru's equal treatment seemed like special and significant to Luo Zi Shang. That's why he couldn't forget her, while she barely recognised him.

Doesn't mean Fan Yu isn't being watched, after all, Zhou Gao Lang was watching Fan Yu, when he wasn't supposed to, and reported his findings to Fan Xuan. It was Fan Xuan who delayed actting on that intel.
Jiang He tried to protect Gu family from Luo Zi Shang . I mean, he was literally the reason Liu Yu Ru was able to fake the death, and become powerful.
Imagine, from Jiang He's perspective, Luo Zi Shang wanted revenge on Gu family, and everyone, like Emperor, expected only that. No one predicted he had intentions to usurp the Throne, until he went after Zhou family. We, viewers knew Luo Zi Shang was controlling Crown Prince through Xi Feng, but they didn't.

But, I think that's the drama consistently portrays how people react to injustice, revenge or understanding and forgiveness. Everyone who chose revenge ended up in a worse place.
Jiang He learnt about Luo Zi Shang's existence after the mess he created in Yangzhou. I agree with Jiang He, Luo Zi Shang was an irredeemable monster by then, he was so fixated on Gu Lang Hua, Gu Jiu Si and Gu family, that he wouldn't have accepted the truth.
Luo Zi Shang was able to accept the truth in the end because there was no reason for Jiang He to lie at that point. Even then, Luo Zi Shang first pushed Jiang He away when Jiang He called Luo Zi Shang as "son" and Luo Zi Shang said, "this isn't how it is supposed to be." Now, imagine Luo Zi Shang being in a stronger position, even if he believed Jiang He was his father, he wouldn't believed that Jiang He didn't even know about Luo Zi Shang's existence.
Ok, Mr. Zhou Gao Lang is defo very unsuitable to take over. His cynical, suspicious, rigid nature is suited as…

Zhou Gao Lang's decision to remain as the Emperor, but stay away from Capital, allowing Zhou Ye to establish his legitimacy was a smart move. After all, the Late Emperor already broke the convention and passed the Throne to Zhou Gao Lang, instead of Fan Yu. Zhou Gao Lang had to accept the Throne, even if he felt he was unsuitable for the position, but the way he transitioned the power to Zhou Ye is more historically plausible and admirable.
Lol true. Luo Zi Shang is too handsome to be antagonist lol he is evil but he is so beautiful. I can't help but…
What's with this giving a pass for antagonist because they are handsome?
If I transmigrated and ended up being close to a handsome antagonist, I would probably sleep with him, but also would spy on him, and kill him if I had the chance. I get to sleep with a handsome antagonist and probably lower his guard, two birds one stone. 🤷
