I'm two episodes in and I want to punch Dae Hee in the face. The fact that he thinks he's so above everyone else just because he has money..... oof hits me straight in my nerves. aishhh
The fact that they just put mounds of body paint on her to make her look like a different race astounds me... THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER WAYS LIKE DUDE HIRE A BLACK ACTRESS
I literally ran around yelling about this today to my profs and no one gave a shit. Like y'all com profs, shouldn't you care about film history?!?! you teach film. Anyway. I'm proud of Bong and how much he is doing to represent korean culture here in America. My parents even enjoyed this movie and they don't enjoy much foreign stuff.
Second leads and their romance outshine the main couple's romance.
I personally think the second leads are more or less forced into the storyline, and I would like one of his comrades to get that second lead romance but.... to each their own.
Hyun Bin really fits into his character in this drama, and all the casting is incredibly good. In MOTA, it just didn't seem right, almost as if the character was made for someone younger with a newer image that could benefit from that type of adventurous role. In this drama, I have learned to appreciate his acting more...
I used to binge watch korean dramas. Then they came either too heavy or too repetitive (when it was romcom) and…
I totally agree! There are so many different types of Asian drama to delve into when there is a Kdrama lull. I mean, as an American- I am lucky to have constant drama from different countries to keep me occupied, since more than half of the shows I watch on my tv are just badly written. It is Christmas time tho, and there are just marathons of sappy movies to fill the drama void for the time being. I’ve been through a couple ruts with Kdrama, but something tells me that there are going to be a lot coming up in the new year that are good.
To everyone saying there isn't enough kiss scenes: this drama probably isn't for you- It's meant to be light and fluffy, not as mature as other cdramas out there. Something similar with a bit more romance is the drama Somewhere Only We Know. That might fulfill the romance need more.
I remember my teacher in HS was always so happy when we read Jane Eyre because the romance is so subtle. I think that's what made me like the subtleness as well.
This story has remanence of Strong Woman DBS in it, especially since she's a character of her own will and isn't forced into this bubble of 'I can't do anything myself' type. Her room even reminds me of DBS in that drama. As for someone who loved that drama so much, now I am interested in this one and I hope it has a good ending.
Best line of the finale came from Do Hwa: “and me, the most adorable kid in the world” after saying how Kyung still looks miserable and that Nam Joo is still Nam Joo.
That part made me cackle so hard. His character is so precious. I wish they could have a second season just with him as the ml bc his acting skills are great! I wish him luck with future roles !

My migraine will ease after the umpteemth watch and analysis. So much going on in just 2 hours....
She needs a cameo
