Overrated

While the story itself was strong, the execution left much to be desired.

First, the editing felt quite messy, scenes often cut off at odd points, and some episodes felt more like random segments pieced together rather than full, coherent episodes. Episode 27, for example, gave most of the screen time to side characters, which disrupted the pacing of the main storyline.

Another issue for me was He Yan’s disguise. I honestly don’t understand how she managed to fool everyone, her mannerisms, compared to the other Yezhou garrison soldiers, were distinctly feminine and almost childish, making her cover less believable.

I was also disappointed with Yan He’s death. It seemed included only for shock value, but it didn’t really land emotionally or add much to the storyit felt unnecessary.

That being said, I’ll give credit where it’s due: the fighting scenes were very well executed and definitely a highlight of the series.

Overall, this drama had potential and an interesting story, but the poor editing, questionable writing choices, and overhype online made it fall short for me.

Overhyped, Lacking Substance

While Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is clearly a cooking-focused show as suggested by the title it felt like it should’ve been more than just food and kitchen scenes. The premise had potential: a royal figure, time travel, and an unexpected dive into culinary arts. But unfortunately, the show fell short in execution.
The romance angle was underdeveloped, and the backstory of the deposed queen didn’t go deep enough. There was so much emotional and historical weight they could’ve explored, but instead, the plot just stalled.
After the first two episodes, it started feeling repetitive. Every episode followed nearly the same formula, with very little actual plot progression. One major frustration was the lack of explanation for how his Majesty ended up in the present time — a huge plot point that was glossed over entirely.
Overall, the show had great potential and a unique concept, but it lacked depth and forward momentum. With better storytelling and more character development, it could’ve been something really special.

very disapointed

was extremely disappointed in this show. While I had high hopes going in, it quickly became clear that My Generation sends a harmful and outdated message — especially to younger viewers.

The portrayal of the female lead constantly chasing after a man who shows little to no interest was frustrating and, frankly, embarrassing. It reinforces the idea that a woman's worth is tied to male validation, which is not only untrue but damaging. Young girls need to see strong, independent characters who understand that there's more to life than pursuing someone who is clearly not reciprocating.

In 2025, we should be promoting self-respect, ambition, and emotional maturity — not desperation masked as romance. Disappointing and out of touch.

Simply the best

From the very first five minutes, I was hooked. The plot, the characters, the acting—everything was executed so well. The 36 episodes flew by, and honestly, it wasn’t enough. What really impressed me was how nothing felt dragged out, which is incredibly rare for dramas with 30+ episodes. Every scene had purpose, and the pacing was tight from start to finish.
I loved how straightforward the story was. The FL and ML got married early on, and they were completely honest about their intentions from the beginning. You’d think that having everything out in the open would kill the suspense, but it didn’t—if anything, it made the drama even more engaging. There was so much action, so many heartfelt and even humorous moments.
The camaraderie between the generals was one of my favorite elements. Despite Wei Shao marrying a Qiao, his men remained fiercely loyal to him—and their respect extended to Lady Wei as well. That quiet, unshakable loyalty added a layer of depth and emotion that hit hard. And when Wei Liang died, it was heartbreaking. But the moment that truly wrecked me was when Wei Qu found his body and vowed to bring him home, no matter the cost. That scene will stay with me for a long time.
Why not a perfect 10? The ending, while satisfying in many ways, felt rushed. I would’ve loved to see Lady Wei’s reaction upon learning her cousin had passed. It also would’ve been deeply moving to see the people of Wei welcome their Lord home—and to witness a final, emotional reunion between Wei Shao and his cousin, honoring his sacrifice.
And yes, I was hoping for one last glimpse into Lady Wei’s life—perhaps a second child, just like in the book—so her husband could finally be there for the birth and witness that joy firsthand.
Still, even with those minor shortcomings, The Prisoner of Beauty is an exceptional drama. It reignited my love for historical series and left me craving more. If this is the standard C-dramas are setting now, I’m all in.

best show about life

I expected this show to be wholesome — but it went far beyond my expectations. When Life Gives You Tangerine is an absolute gem. Beautifully written and masterfully acted, it’s easily one of the best portrayals of life and adulthood I’ve ever seen on screen.
This series captures it all — the ups and downs, the sweet and the sour — much like a tangerine itself. It reminds you that the life you dreamed of may not unfold exactly as planned, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be beautiful in its own way.
The characters didn’t have much in terms of money or luxury, but wow — they had love, friendship, and a strong sense of community. And sometimes, that’s more than enough.
When Life Gives You Tangerine is tender, real, and full of quiet wisdom. If you’re looking for something that will make you reflect, smile, and maybe even cry and cry — this is the one.

so much potential but fell short.

It started off strong and really drew me in from the beginning I was captivated by the world and the characters. But around the midway point, the pacing slowed down, and the story started developing in strange and unconvincing directions.

And please, can we stop with the amnesia trope? First the female lead, then the male lead it felt repetitive and frustrating like the writers lacked storylines. By that point, I almost didn’t want to finish the show.

Overall, a disappointing execution of what could have been a great drama.

not very impressive

This drama feels like a compilation of every rom-com trope rolled into one. We’ve got the CEO with a traumatic past and lingering PTSD, the financially struggling female lead whose family owns a restaurant, and of course the childhood-connection trope. It’s not a great drama, but it’s not a bad one either—just something very easy to watch, especially with so many familiar faces in the cast.
This might be a little controversial, but I have to say it: Jung So-Min tends to play the same character in most of her dramas (with the exception of Alchemy of Souls). She often falls into the role of a woman who’s a bit lost in life, insecure, and using the same pitch and tone in her delivery.

When Potential Gets… Manipulated

m not sure what’s been going on with K-dramas these last couple of years. So many of them start incredibly strong, only to lose momentum halfway through—and The Manipulated unfortunately falls into that pattern. Personally, I prefer when a series starts slow and gradually deepens its plot, but this one went the opposite route.
The first four episodes were absolute bangers. They set up a gripping mystery, tight pacing, and a lot of potential. I was excited—really excited. But as the show progressed, the villain became increasingly cartoony, which pulled me out of the tension the drama worked so hard to build early on.
I was also confused by the reveal that the nanny was actually the mom. The show needed to give us more backstory between the nanny and the villain to make that twist land. Instead, it felt rushed and underdeveloped, which made the emotional payoff fall flat.
Overall, I’m disappointed. The Manipulated had all the ingredients to be something great, but it couldn’t sustain the intensity it opened with. A solid start, but a shaky finish.

Complex people are not for everyone.

When I first heard about this drama, I did not really understand the title. But now I see that she wanter her friend and everything else around her
I wish I could say I didn’t understand Sang-Yeon. I wish I could say I hated her. But the truth is... I do understand her.
Cheon Sang-Yeon wasn’t evil. She was broken. Most of what she did came from fear and insecurity — reacting to a world she didn’t know how to trust.
Eun-Jung, on the other hand, was almost too kind, too naive. She just wanted to be loved by everyone. Maybe if she had set firmer boundaries from the beginning, things wouldn’t have gone as far as they did.
Each of them was flawed in their own way. That’s what made it so real. Still, as much as I sympathized with Sang-Yeon, I don’t think she deserved Eun-Jung’s forgiveness — and perhaps, she didn’t even deserve a happy ending. Sometimes, remorse comes too late.
This review might seem conflicting — because my feelings are conflicting. But I think that’s exactly what this show does so well. It makes you sit with the uncomfortable truth that not everyone who’s hurting deserves a second chance... even if you understand why they’re hurting.

This drama has made be feel all the emotions_ Truly a masterpiece

I watched The Untamed for the first time in September 2025 with no knowledge of what it was about (I know, I’m very late to the game), and I can confidently say , this drama made me feel every possible emotion. It’s truly a masterpiece.

Like all the other reviews says, the plot and pretty much everything else is epic. This show makes you question what is good and what is bed. It makes you question how far will you go to defend your what you believe in_ Overall, a masterpiece.

While the story mainly revolves around Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian and many consider their relationship to be the most tragic because they never got the chance to openly be together — for me, the most heartbreaking relationship in the show was between Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian.
My review is mostly about Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian.

It physically pained my heart (I’m not even exaggerating) to see how their bond fell apart, how they never had the chance to communicate properly, and how years of love, loyalty, and misunderstanding turned into distance and resentment. The worst part is that I can’t even blame anyone. Jiang Cheng had every right to be angry.

What frustrates me deeply is how his pain and trauma are often overlooked because of his temper. But in my eyes, Jiang Cheng is the one who suffered the most. He lost his parents on the same day in the most brutal way imaginable, then lost his home, his sister, and finally his brother — the same brother who had once promised they would always stay together. In vain.

I could go on and on about how unfairly Jiang Cheng was treated, but you get the picture. The Untamed is an unforgettable story of love, loyalty, loss, and redemption. It’s a show that leaves an ache in your chest long after it ends — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The show portrayed act of service on another level.

This show was written beautifully and the actors despite the controversy were perfectly cast. Victor Ma is excellent as a brother in Hidden love but could not have perfectly played Sang Yan like this actor did.
When I first started watching this drama, I never knew I'd become so attached to a TV show to such an extent. All the time I've spent watching this show has been worth it.

Redundant and Underwhelming

I went into Till the End of the Moon with high expectations because of all the hype and glowing reviews, but honestly, it ended up being quite disappointing. It was surprisingly hard for me to finish this drama—I practically had to force myself through the last stretch just to cross it off my list.
The biggest issue for me was the repetitive storyline. I understand that the plot is meant to loop through similar circumstances, but it became too redundant. After a while, it felt like watching the same arc play out again and again, and I gradually lost interest.

Another thing I absolutely dislike—and this drama leans heavily into it—is the trope where the lead pretends to be invested purely for some personal gain. Yes, I know this is common and the characters usually end up falling in love for real, but it’s a plotline I find frustrating, especially when the characters are supposed to be mature adults. It just made their dynamics feel less compelling to me.

If I’m being honest, the one thing that kept me motivated to finish was TanTai Jin’s face card, because the man is undeniably beautiful. Sometimes, aesthetics are enough to keep a person going—and in this case, they were.

Overall, while the production value is high and the leads are visually stunning, the storytelling just didn’t hold up for me. 6.5/10.

Hate open ending

The storyline was pretty great overall. It hooked us from the very beginning with its intense setup and suspense, but unfortunately, it started to lose its way as the series went on. A lot of questions were left unanswered, which was frustrating.
For example, who was the person in the video pretending to be Jang Junik? How did Munju lose her child? I really would’ve liked a deeper dive into the characters’ pasts—there was so much emotional depth that just got brushed over. I’m also not sure if I missed something, but who exactly hired Valkyrie to protect Munju?
Another big question for me: if Junik’s mother was exiled from Korea due to political issues in the U.S., how did they manage to return and build such a prominent business in Korea? That part didn’t quite add up.
And finally, I hated the ending. Open endings just aren’t for me—I prefer closure, especially after investing so much time into a show.

Important Message, But Lost Momentum

This show started off great. The storyline was engaging, and the acting was genuinely impressive. What captivated me the most was how hard it was to watch at times—not because it was poorly done, but because it reflected the harsh reality many women face. That made it even harder to stomach, but it’s exactly why this topic needs to be highlighted and talked about.
However, after episode 5, the show unfortunately began to go downhill. Many of the episodes that followed felt like filler, and after reading other reviews, I realized I wasn’t the only one who felt this way. The plot choice of bringing Jang Kang back especially bothered me; it felt unnecessary and pulled the story away from what made it strong in the first place.
I honestly wish the characters had never been caught and that the remaining episodes had focused more on Hui-Su—her healing, finding her confidence again after so much trauma, and simply reclaiming her life. I also would have loved to see Eun-Su quit her job and become an advocate for women who have suffered abuse, while exposing Jin Pyo’s family hypocrisy. That direction would have been so much more satisfying and meaningful.
One of the things I truly loved about this drama was the bond the girls shared with Mr. Jin. Their relationship was pure, supportive, and genuinely healthy.
Overall, As You Stood By is a good drama that tackles an important and sensitive topic, but it ultimately fell short in the end. Still, it’s worth watching for the message it tries to deliver.

Started really Stong but stalled towards the end

haven’t seen all of Zhao Lusi’s dramas—only Love Like the Galaxy and Hidden Love. In both, I felt she often played the babyish or whiny character, which didn’t really show her range or maturity. But in Loves Ambition, she truly surprised me. Her character was so much more mature and grounded, and I loved seeing this side of her. This kind of role suits her really well.
The show started off strong and immediately had me hooked. The early episodes, especially during the “divorce cooling-off period,” had the perfect mix of tension and comedy. It turned into pure entertainment—I found myself laughing out loud more than once!
The pacing was generally good, but towards the later episodes, I felt it started to drag. Some scenes, especially those set in the Yan Atelier, felt like filler with little plot development. And unfortunately, the final episode was quite disappointing, particularly the last 5 minutes. It really bothered me that there was no satisfying resolution between Hao Chao and his father—he didn’t even appear in the finale, which felt like a missed opportunity.
Overall, it was an okay show with a very strong start. It's an easy and entertaining watch. I also want to praise the casting: the male lead actually looked like a real CEO, which is rare! So often in dramas, CEOs look way too young or lack presence, but here it was believable and refreshing. And the mother-in-law character? What a gem. Yes, she came off a bit harsh at first, but she ended up being elegant, supportive, and honestly, one of the highlights of the show.
