I'm really scared the ending will be rushed because until ep 38 is the bullying plot and there is the LBY revenge plot left plus the reveal of 2 more villains (?)
Sigh, I keep replaying the part where LBY lifts CSS to sit on the railing so their eyes are on the same level. First time seeing such an affectionate scene. It is lovely and tugs at the side of me that has forgotten about romance.
You get adult actors playing teenagers in high school all the time. Why do you feel the need to highlight Chinese producers when this is standard across all entertainment industries globally?
Wanna point out that SS was better than all the adults at cleaning up their messes. The first was breaking off the engagement with A'Yao. She reasoned with him by appealing to his affection for He Zhao Jun's family members and personal ambition. In the end A'Yao did not end up with feelings of betrayal because he made the decision himself and was better off for it.
In ep 24 the mum ran her mouth without thinking about the consequences of dragging her daughter in front of the nobles. SS again resolved the situation with her quick thinking by asking LBY if he is willing to accept her as it is. This was the perfect setup for LBY to declare he would only marry her. I think this is what saved her reputation from crumbling into dust. It's shaky, but still intact. Then when they got home and she explained her reasons for accepting the proposal, we find out she's 3 steps ahead of her parents in thinking it out.
Before this latest episode, I would've told you the parents would be thrilled about LBY proposal, but probably…
5. Idk about the Han dynasty thing because the author has stressed that it's a fictional period so maybe she had some different ideas about society's etiquette and attitudes towards women.
I agree it's a problem. I hope there is a moment where she realizes how important court etiquette is to put effort…
I wonder if being starved as a child made snacking a coping mechanism. It's like she doesn't see the consequences with randomly eating food in people's presence.
No, I think LBY should have proposed in more private setting and he shouldn't have used the Emperor to force it.…
There's a spoiler from someone about problems with their post-engagement life. I'm glad things are not smooth sailing otherwise this drama will get boring fast.
CSS is kind and wise beyond her years, but her lack of propriety does worry me. She's young and adorable so it's fine now but the society is harsh on girls, especially when they get older. She needs discipline and someone to tame her argumentative personality. Her mum is terrible though. There are moments where her eyes go soft with worry, then the prideful part of her consciously fights back to antagonize CSS.
Am I the only one who think LBY, SS mother , emperor and even her father wronged SS here?
No, I think LBY should have proposed in more private setting and he shouldn't have used the Emperor to force it. I get wanting to boost her image in the palace but his plan was risky and almost fell apart. CSS got harmed psychologically. She didn't accept the proposal to marry him but to save her parents from their blunder. Even LBY knew this after seeing her disappointed face. The proposal didn't make her happy. I still love this pairing though.
