But still no romance tag from Netflix... I will continue to expect this to just be a bromance story and if I'm wrong I'll never have been happier to be wrong.
Occasionally, I still have a moment of silence out of respect for what this show COULD have been... If it had been shorter, with better writing, without 14 side couples and without those hideous sound effects. TeamWin still holds a special place in my heart.
Like I expected, this was too short for the finale to not feel rushed. Overall, I enjoyed this but I think the characters lacked a bit of intimacy to make the relationship truly feel authentic in the end. A few more episodes would have probably helped with this.
Anyone else literally feeling pain in their own neck on Daigo's behalf while watching the preview for the next episode when they're about to kiss... He has to reach so damn high. Their height difference is so beautiful but I realize it comes with a price lol
There actually is something deeply profound to me about Kano getting to experience his crush swooning over him in an alternative universe only for him to be longing for the OG!version of his crush even though he's much colder... because OG respects him... That's sexy. I also love how Kano discovered that even if it's less obvious, OG actually does care about him. It was OG he fell for (subconsciously) in the first place, anyway. I've used the term OG so much now it's lost its meaning lol.
The acting in this is turning out to be of so much higher quality than I - respectfully - expected it to be. The chemistry between the leads is insane and I'm so obsessed with this story.
is it real ? so it's not a romance ? it is still tag as LGBTQ on Netflix🤔 honestly if it's a drama about friendship,…
@Sunshineeeeeee I should clarify I don't personally know for sure but there are many signs that, when adding them up, has let me to this conclusion.
1) I've seen several second-hand sources by now say it's a friendship story.
2) I think it's pretty clear from the advertising (or lack there of). "Love story" doesn't appear in the official Netflix description. There is no "romance" tag. The very short trailer we've seen so far was very bromance-coded. LGBT shows have proven popular on Netflix, so if it was romance, why would they create doubt about it? They would probably sell it as such (see 10Dance, for example).
It could still accurately be labed as LGBTQ if one of the characters (most likely Isomura Hayato's) is gay. That's the most likely theory in my opinion.
I will always be bitter about them marketing this as a romance in the beginning. "A love story between two men."
Yes, there is love in friendship. But the term "love story" is still reserved for romance in my mind.
I will still watch this, I have been waiting for so long, I am excited about the story and the cast and I'm sure I will enjoy it. But the disappointment is there.
