I agree that his behavior isn't exactly getting cuter with time, but 1) It's clearly a (very exaggerated) character trait, visible from episode 1, season 1... it's not something new & it would be pretty unrealistic if it just disappeared and 2) I actually think W seems aware that it is HIS flaw, not Hioki's. He very clearly says to Morisaki in the latest episode that Hioki isn't doing anything wrong. That doesn't excuse his behavior and obviously he needs to communicate this to Hioki better. But I still think it's a pretty important detail, idk just my 5 cents.
I'm really happy with the ending because honestly an open ending is the most positive outcome we could have possibly hoped for. What were they supposed to do, have the teacher get together with his student?
At least we got the hint of a reunion in the future when Giu is no longer Hyeonjae's teacher and they're both more mature. In fact, I think there are several hints in the final episodes that point towards the possibility of this reunion.
- Giu initiating ending his (lavender? either way, fake) marriage, possibly representing he's ready to stop living a lie.
- Giu's talk with Jeongha in the hospital suggesting Giu doesn't have any anger towards Hyeonjae and is relieved that he might not get expelled after all.
- Giu downloading the app again to read Hyeonjae's "final" messages, perhaps not being able to cut off communication after all.
All of this hints towards Giu possibly being open to a reunion later on... and I probably missed some. That's my (probably overly positive lol) take!
Those last couple of episodes basically had me with my heart in my throat from the first second. I can't remember the last time I watched something this intense and sad. What a beautiful if heartbreaking story. And the acting??? Magnificent.
So: Ueno is gay. Kanda is supposedly straight, probably just by Ueno's assumption. Ueno has a secret crush on Kanda. Meanwhile, Kanda is just openly flirting with Ueno. Ueno thinks Kanda is joking. Kanda will get hurt Ueno isn't taking his interest seriously.
Ohh, I can tell we're in for a ride. This is my kind of drama.

The first half of the show felt smooth and linear, every episode pushed towards a culmination, kinda like >>>>>>>>.
But now the plot is like ><><><>< if that makes sense. There's an obstacle, it's resolved in a couple of episodes, and the reward feels kind of lackluster. There doesn't seem to be any real red thread anymore or at least I'm not seeing it. I have no clue what kind of ending we're moving towards.
In fact, the only red thread seems to be from the pov of the scientist, almost as if he has become the main character.
That kiss was so hot even though it happened in Hyeon Jae's imagination... I know it's extremely unethical but they have too good chemistry for that to go to waste 😭
I kinda went into this show thinking the teacher would be at least a little creepy and the moral "villain". Meanwhile, my list of ACTUAL villains in the show so far...

That's what it seemed like at first but then their conversation in the hallway gave the impression she knows he is closeted.
