It's actually nice that they are exploring that, being suddenly thrown in an unknown and (for most stories) dangerous life. It's sort worse for him since he doesnt know why he was suddenly there and there was no 'system' who could somewhat keep you company (even if it trolls you, like the one page fr the 90s) if i were him i would've thought the modern world was a fever dream. Tbh, it's the same for me. I love both of the main leads and their work. So i also had these high expectations (i cant help it. It's them), but can't connect with drama. But I'm more invested now after the palace maids case. It was said this was Bai Lu's favorite in all of the cases. I hope this is not the peak of the drama. ><
