i was going to say that there's no cliff yet for this drama. (a cliff is almost standard trope in costume cdramas) but i remember FL's concubine mother said that her mother fell on a cliff, so i guess that counts.

haha i was surprised when i saw it too. but it doesn't really bother me since i see this all the time in anime and games.
you can try watching a few more episodes and may be you'll get used to it. it'll be more annoying i think, if they would shout out their 'power moves'. i am ep 4 and the story is still somehow interesting. lacking of something but i think it's all introduction for now. try focusing on Xukai. ^^ he's pretty in all black and his practice sessions and fighting scenes with the spear looks nice.
