Title The Song of Glory Spoiler
After watching Ep. 27 and 28 last night, I had two thoughts on the young Princess Consort and Master Xu Lin (see…
1) Xie Yun Zhi, the Princess Consort, is one of my favorite characters. Her love for Peng Cheng/Yi Kang is pure and her affection for Li Ge was refreshing and fully sincere. Will the two women ever be able to rebuild their bond? In a palace full of enemies, it's tragic how the conspiracy against the Shens and the Prince has broken what could've been a deep bond between the two consorts.

Just look at that achingly sweet painting Yun Zhi did of Li Ge searching for bird nests in the pergola (Ep. 27, 9:24) She only paints the people she loves!

2) I'd be surprised if the production crew didn't have rebuild some of the sets after filming Master Xu Lin's scenes. He's one to chew the scenery—like a dog with a peanut butter Kong!

You know how headphones might make you talk louder? Perhaps the eyepatch is making him overcompensate.

I needed help figuring this out too. It's a cumbersome system even for users with legal VIP iQIYI accounts. It…
1) Clear your cache (THIS is the missing step)
2) Turn on VPN and set to Asian host. I usually choose Singapore or Hong Kong via ExpressVPN.
3) Log in your VIP iQIYI account
4) In your web browser, paste in a direct URL for one of the episodes (see below; any of these will do)

Once you've done that, you should see ALL the links on the right-hand side, Ep. 1 - 30.

If you do NOT have Viki and need to watch everything in iQIYI, I'd grab all the links you can and paste them into a document. At least the links for Ep. 1-18. (Right click, copy URL, etc.). The links for the remaining episodes up to Fri. July 24 are below:

Ep 19: https://www.iq.com/play/2ffkwyd3a0c
Ep 20: https://www.iq.com/play/2ffkwyd336s

Ep 21: https://www.iq.com/play/19rzhtp504
Ep 22: https://www.iq.com/play/19rzhtqxtk

Ep. 23: https://www.iq.com/play/19rzigb8y8
Ep. 24: https://www.iq.com/play/19rzif69t4

Ep 25: https://www.iq.com/play/2ffkwy7wlp0
Ep 26: https://www.iq.com/play/2ffkwy6qxk8

Ep 27: https://www.iq.com/play/19rz6yaqp8
Ep 28: https://www.iq.com/play/19rz6yamvc

Ep 29: https://www.iq.com/play/19rz35u9lw
Ep 30: https://www.iq.com/play/19rz35m6rs

Saffy88 has kindly posted the latest links every morning, Wednesday through Friday.

It's a pain for me to clear my cache because I have to log in again to all my newspapers and streaming services. I just keep my little Note with the latest iQIYI episodes so I can gobble up the latest episodes with same-day subs. I'll rewatch my favorite bits in Viki with good quality subs.

Once you've got links to direct episodes, you won't see the all the links on the side anymore. It won't matter because you've got the complete list saved elsewhere. This is the only way we've been able to circumvent the copyright restrictions that were imposed after iQIYI already streamed about a dozen episodes.

Do I need to use VPN to watch this on the IQIYI app? Can’t seem to be able to find it on there.
I needed help figuring this out too. It's a cumbersome system even for users with legal VIP iQIYI accounts. It depends on how important it is for you to access all the links at once. I watch with English subs on both Viki and iQIYI. Viki has high quality subs but their subs are running almost a week behind new episodes.

If it's important for you to have access to every iQIYI episode link, you need to take these steps for desktop users (see spoiler).

It seems the King doesn't have any power at all,his officials even dare question him when he speaks. Lu yuan seems…
Do you mean Yi Kang? Technically, he *is* just a prince. His sickly, (unseen) older brother is the emperor. Some translations are using "King" for Prince Peng Cheng/Lui Yi Kang but that's not correct.

I'm also stressed by with the unceasing fixation on hurting Li Ge. Their marriage alliance is a source of power. Destroy the Shen family, destroy the prince. (Or in the case of Sister Cockroach, destroy the person who took everything away.)

Ha, ha! Thanks for sharing! Just watched Avenue X's rant/review above. (I've watched her channel for 3 years now.) Very funny. I agree with *some* of her issues regarding the script but I also don't care that much. This drama is serving as my summer blockbuster so I'll enjoy the ride.

We are in agreement that Li Qin and Qin Hao are compelling, whatever weaknesses the script may have.

Hilariously, she applauds Qin Hao's earning nǎi fěn qián 奶粉钱 (milk powder money) for his daughter. In my house, we say, "Daddy/Mommy needs a new boat" when an actor does a money project. Long a staple of art house films and drama, Qin Hao is in no danger of turning into Nic Cage.

It must be challenging to watch dramas if you know the dubbing actors well. (I don't.) I understand the reasons for dubbing but it's a shame when actors actually have great, distinctive voices.

I really powered through 33 eps in 2 days with little to no sleep and had to stop myself cause my ABC ass couldn't…
@tapiocuhs Aaaah! "My ABC ass!" LMAO. I'd give my front tooth to have your 40%.

I was 15 the first time I heard my FOB mom speak Cantonese (beyond a couple words). It was like, "What?! You've been holding back all this time?!"

Before the pandemic, my plan for the third generation was to send my teen to the summer immersion Chinese (Mandarin) program at Middlebury College in Vermont. Middlebury's language programs are amongst the best in the world. They have 4-week programs for high schoolers (now suspended) https://www.summerlanguageacademy.com/summer-language-academy/languages/chinese-academies and an 8-week program for adults https://www.middlebury.edu/language-schools/languages/chinese

I feel for the students who had to cancel or alter plans. My own hopes to do the program in 2021 might go bust. It's a shame because I've been planning for three years to do this. It's not easy for a grown-up to get away for 2 months.

You mean where she pirouetted, saved the falling bowl and administered the antidote via kiss of life to Pengcheng?…
Thanks. You are clearly trying to sabotage my hopes of finding a healthier balance between family, work and drama.

Oof, my heart! It's funny how being spoiled doesn't bother me in the least. I'm still on tenterhooks while watching the show. And it's too much fun seeing how Princess Cockroach slips out of trouble again and again. I'm not Team Cockroach but you gotta give a b*tch respect.

I've definitely seen passionate kisses in c-dramas—even historical/wuxia/xianxia shows—but they're kind of rare. A show like LEGEND OF FU YAO (2018) had maybe two or three smooches out of 66 episodes. But the show more than made up for it with lots of cheeky banter, smoldering eyes and an amazing partnership.

In modern dramas, the younger actors might be more likely to have kiss scenes. Some actors like Jin Dong (he's 43) seem to have a no kiss policy. When Jin Dong does kiss, it's so dry I wish he wouldn't bother. If he's so reticent about it, why not focus on the emotional connection? Which is fine with me if there's chemistry, good conversation and cozy hugs.

Earlier this year, I was absolutely besotted with the slow burn OTP in the 53-ep modern workplace drama I WILL FIND YOU A BETTER HOME (2020). One kiss in the whole show—and on the forehead. But it was the forehead kiss to end all forehead kisses. ;P

24 episodes in two days? Do you have panda eyes?

It's taken me over a week to make it through the first 22 episodes. Though I must admit, I may have accidentally watched a few episodes more than once because I had multiple tabs open on different computers. ;P

started off great but then sizzled down ,. not much romantic chemistry more like friendly chemistry,..
Hee, hee! "Friendly chemistry" is a fair observation though I also found them quite romantic. It's actually what I love about Hae-kyung and Do-hee. They make each other laugh. As someone who's been married almost 25 years—my own experience tells me that friendly chemistry is much more sustainable over the long haul. It's certainly getting us through this pandemic, locked down together 24/7 for six months. ;)

For a modern 8-episode Turkish series on Netflix, I *enthusiastically* recommend THE GIFT (ATIYE). It's a deeply romantic, paranormal love story. (Fated love, parental love, grandmother love, rejected love, forbeeeden love ...) Beautiful and compelling in every way with A-list actors and high production values. It was my first Turkish series and my introduction to Göbekli Tepe and Mount Nemrut.

I devoured it in a single sitting over New Year's Eve.

Fair point about superhero shenanigans! When i first started watching this genre (LOVE LOST IN TIME), I was stupefied by the wire work. "Is this magic?" Nope, just good martial arts. ;)

Yeah, that wedding night was extraordinary. I had no idea how YK would react to his wedding shanking. Her anguish, his relief and understanding ... Now that true love!

Ha! Women swanning around the place disguised as eunuchs is always good for a laugh. In Li Ge's case, I'm curious if her male clothing is for comfort or for disguise. It took me a while to discern she was wearing masculine clothing—everything she wears is fitted and beautiful. It wasn't until Yi Kang teased her about catching a young maiden's eye that I saw she was in "pants."
