This is me lol. I failed to find anything interesting regarding the plot. It just seemed not important. Esp when you watched it together with Memories of Alhambra, the adrenaline level is just like heaven and earth. :((((
ITS OBVIOUSLY A HAPPY ENDING. WHY?I know that many people are really dissatisfied with this drama’s ending.…
- The different between the original game and the new game is that there is no more Emma. Se Joo makes one of Emma's features is to delete the bugs and reset the game. No Emma, there will be no bugs, there will be no errors and the game wont reset itself back. Plus, once the game was reset by Jin Woo, it has become new game without error / bug so unlike Jin Woo, the one who is going to save him not going to get stuck. - About why cant people return once they become a Master, I personally think its a mistake by the writer in trying to be clever with her ending lol. She obviously wanted to be creative but kind of backfired. She supposed to make Jin Woo return back to normal once Emma stab and delete Zinu. Zinu is the bug and not Jin Woo so Jin Woo was not supposed to be deleted from the world. But of course, it seemed to much on her part to give such a sad character a clear happy end. It seemed like we appreciate Jin Woo more than her which kind of made me mad as a writer supposed to have a certain emotional attachment towards her main characters but since she is so adamant in making Jin Woo tragic till the end, it make me sad.. But in the other hand, Jin Woo probably cant return to the real world as Emma has reset the game and there's no medium for him to make himself appear. Thus, he only appear 1 year later when they on back the server when the new game is released. :P - I understand regarding the explanation on certain things. If you read my review, it is also one of the concerns I had. But since this is a fantasy drama, the writer just lump it up as part of 'fantasy' element of the story that all of these things happened. We know the start is Emma when she combine the game and real world together when Se Joo was stabbed with real knife. The error start there and everything become haywire after that. That is why Se Joo is also afraid for his life as he didnt know what to expect once the game has glitch. But good thing that despite the glitch, it still follow the game rules thus they can play around with it to save themselves aka 'instant dungeon' feature that Se Joo created. I think just like Harry Potter where we have this magical world that existed where all the magical stuffs happen, the writer aimed for all the sinister part of the game was caused by the new world that Emma created. Like Jin Woo, he also explore that 'world' and learn the rules of the game to make himself survive. - Regarding when things are real or when it is just game, it got to do with the attack by the NPCs whether it cause you real pain or not. What we know is that real pain is only caused by Dr. Cha NPC (bug). But its all changed when Jin Woo got to Granada to accomplished the final mission. After that, all attack has become real that even his limps cured. That is why he said; 'After all, Granada is indeed a City of Magic' as he predicted. As Jin Woo is learning the new rules of the error caused by Emma, we are also learning it together with him. Just like anyone who form an alliance with him will share the same fate as him -- Jin Woo only knew this after 1 year. - Jin Woo also didnt know that he need to be stabbed for the game to end. He thought he just passed the key for it to end but when the first time Emma stabbed him, he figured out that 'Zinu' is also a bug and must be destroyed. - Regarding why he cant start with a clean version of the game, then he will never find Se Joo as Se Joo was stucked in the error game created by Emma. And he can only restart the game once Emma killed all the bugs. Note that he always said 'I dont know', 'I dont know' to everyone because he really didnt know. What he know is that completing the mission could be the answer to find Se Joo thus he did exactly that. Plus, Dr. Cha NPC is there to kill him everyday thus he needed a closure not running away and start everything anew when the past will keep haunting him everyday. - Agreed on your last part. Se Joo is undeniably slow. I mean, he only told anyone that Jin Woo could be stuck in the dungeon one year after the event. I mean, he is the creator, he should have known this earlier lol. - Like I said, the writer obviously trying to be 'groundbreaking' in her ending but backfired. But it doesnt mean that she didnt aim for a happy end and my original post is to highlight that as I noticed many viewers didnt really understand her ending.
ITS OBVIOUSLY A HAPPY ENDING. WHY?I know that many people are really dissatisfied with this drama’s ending.…
haha no prob! :D I only manage to get it after I watched the last episode for the 2nd time. It was obviously that the writer aimed for a happy end and Jin Woo act of killing low-level NPCs just days after the game was released speaks volume. And the writer made it clear that the sinister part of the game was buried once and for all when Jin Woo sacrificing himself at the end. The game was reset back to zero, no more Emma and no more bad cycle repeating themselves.
It seemed that many people are mad with the ending and seemed to confuse with the game concepts. Here are the…
ITS OBVIOUSLY A HAPPY ENDING. WHY?
I know that many people are really dissatisfied with this drama’s ending. I personally thought the writer trying to be creative with her ending but kind of backfired as many people got confuse with the game concepts and thought that the bug cycle was repeating themselves over and over again now that Jin Woo is still stuck in the game.
On the surface, the drama ended with a bittersweet note with a glimmer of hope at the end. However, after a second viewing, I have to admit that it is after all a clear cut happy ending. I realised many small details that the writer gave to us – that it was clear that despite the ending is ambiguous, the writer aimed for a happy end to both of our main leads. First of all, lets clear the confusion regarding the concept of the game world.
1. At first, I thought that Emma, while one of her features is to delete bugs, is a bug itself as she’s the reason why the game world and the reality world collide when Marco stabbed Se Joo with real knife. I mean, if she’s not there, the whole mess of the game become real wouldn’t happen as Se Joo will just bleed after the stab and probably recover after he go to the hospital. Jin Woo wouldn’t be in that mess and the only one suffers is only Se Joo with the stab wounds on his stomach.
2. Marco is Se Joo’s bug thus he do not need to be deleted for Jin Woo to reset the game. Bear in mind that Se Joo is the one who create this game and he set the rules. Among the rules are those who gave Fatima the Key to Heaven will win the game and become the new Master. And he also put one of Emma’ s features is to delete bugs and once bugs are deleted, the game will reset. And that is exactly what Jin Woo did; level up, get the key, kill the bugs and hand over the key to Emma and Emma reset the game.
3. Jin Woo made sure he killed all of the bugs and also sacrificing himself in the process to end the game’s sinister elements. Since he already do this and reset the game to zero, there are no more evil cycle of one has to sacrifice themselves to save the others. Once Emma reset everything, it is a new game without bugs/errors/glitch. J One lost all the data and build the game back from scratch that is why it took them another 1 year to release the new game as they have to rebuild everything. The good thing about the whole thing is that is game is finally safe to be played unlike Se Joo’s original game which mix game world and the real world. The writer made it clear that the evil part of the game was buried once and for all when Jin Woo sacrificing himself at the end.
4. It was obvious that Yang Ju finally delete Emma from the new game when we hear that he regretted of keeping Emma where Emma in the end reset the whole game and delete all their hard work for the past 1 year. So no Emma, no more glitch in the game. There is no more Emma so the features of her to delete bugs and reset back the game is no longer there as well.
5. Regarding whether Hee Joo can see Jin Woo or not, she can see him as she is wearing lenses. All game users can see Jin Woo if he made an appearance that is why the guy at the restaurant insisted that Jin Woo is not NPC but an advanced user. ‘Instant Dungeon’ is to make one become invisible from the enemies and hide themselves. Se Joo did hide himself for 1 year as Marco is there to hunt him so he keep using the instant dungeon feature to remain safe. Jin Woo in the other hand just use the feature to save himself from getting deleted by Emma. So if he didnt use the instant dungeon feature, other game users can see him. The problem is getting him out of the game and I believe that is Se Joo task to do that.
And now the for ending, the writer purposely tell us about the 'Instant Dungeon’ and how a user can use it to hide themselves. And later at the end, it is shown that Jin Woo after all did use that feature to save himself. But why is he helping in killing low-level NPCs for other game users just days after the game was released? It is not actually a 'Master’ task to do that and he knew the game is now free from bugs and no one is getting killed for real. But he did it anyway. Why? He did that as a call of help to alert everyone that he is after all still alive but somehow still stuck in the game. He clearly let them know that he is still alive by helping the other game users. Now that Hee Joo knew that he is alive and hidden, it is only a matter of time for him to be saved just like how he saved Se Joo the year earlier. So, technically, it is only a matter of time before he can get his happy ending.
I am pretty much disappointed with the ending but upon second viewing, it wasn’t really that bad like I initially felt. The writer for surely aimed for a happy end, it just that, its not in-your-face type of ending like other dramas.

Explanation to those who has watch the drama on why the Emperor is not weak:
Unlike everyone, I still feel he is wise and intelligent king who sees the bigger picture (like Guo Jia). Of course, I would want him to be tough a bit like killing Cao Pi but I personally feel he didn't bribe the enemy or barter his kingdom or giving his lands as collateral. He just simply compromise and manipulate his opponents' greedy for power nature. Just look at everytime he compromise with Cao Cao. He always give him something but he received something bigger in return. For an example when he asked Cao Cao of truce for the first time by giving him the 'Chancellor' title, he got his first 6 months rest without conflicts and at the same time use Cao Cao's army to pacify the nation at the south area. At the same time, he managed to save the whole Sima family and put Zhong Da in Ministry of Works. Cao Cao is still powerful with or without the 'Chancellor' title but by simply giving him what he want and satisfy his lust for power, the Emperor got to exchange many things in return. What a clever negotiation imo.
The same thing happened when the Emperor still offering his truce after Tang Ying's death. Killing Cao Cao is never the answer since his army will split and different warlords will be born to avenge his death. The killing cycle will never stop and the peace that they have been trying to achieve for the past 10 years will be for nothing. The central plain will be in chaos again. The Emperor just simply ask Cao Cao to move to Ye City and continue to fight the south area. By simply giving Cao Cao Ye City, the Emperor in return got to save Sima Yi, use Cao Cao to pacify the south part of the country, took over the capital without Cao Cao's watchful eyes, stop being a puppet Emperor to anyone, move Cao Cao's army away from the Capital, build his own army in the capital and slowly grow his power and influence among the people. It was a brilliant negotiation! He just give one city to his enemy and yet he managed to score other advantages in return.
wow!! Completed, Am speechless how Sima Yi turn thing around, he is the mastermind , the architech , but too sad…
The Emperor didnt give up his throne because of love for the Empress but because of his people. He didnt want his people to go to war just because he wants to hold on to his position. He values peace and going to war will destroy everything that he has worked on for the past 20 years -- the country will be scattered again and the unification of the country will be put into halt.
in my opinion, it is not an issue as he never have known or met them before, his brother is already dead by the…
I understand your concern but relationship between sister in law and brother in law are permitted if he/she no longer married to your brother/sister or had died. It is not a taboo relationship because you are not related by blood and the relationship ended when you are dead or no longer married.
Watching the last leg of the drama. The emperor is annoying me so much! why give so much leeway to Cao Cao ???!!…

I'm debating if I should watch this, but seeing your comment I'm wondering why you didn't like it?
Its not a taboo relationship as the brother already dead. The Empress is free to marry anyone she likes (not sure how it worked in Han dynasty though). Plus, the writer did their relationship tastefully like the Emperor resist the Empress many times before they truly fall in love with each other. It was a rather beautiful love story. I usually didnt like overly romantic relationship in serious drama but the writer put enough dosage of it -- not too many nor too little.

The brother is already dead and in real world, you are free to marry your sister-in-law if she is no longer married to your brother. Its not a taboo relationship as they are not related by blood. In-law relationship ended with death/divorce.
I feel sad that many people in general didn't get the brilliance behind the Emperor's benevolent decisions. He win battles with wit and intelligent but many viewers prefers him to be a ruthless king that take lives. Viewers keep wanting him to take lives but taking one person live will escalate to something even bigger but they failed to see that. Like Guo Jia said, 'A wise ruler is not the one who kill powerful subjects but to work with them to pacify the nation.' And that is what exactly the Emperor did.
They failed to see that many times his kindness save them from enemies' traps and never once he was caught red-handed by the enemies. Everytime when he compromised with his enemies, he got more advantages in return -- just by giving something small, he achieved something bigger in return. He won the hearts of his enemies and supporters and they call him a great and a wise king for a reason. He strike fears in the heart of his enemies just by being kind -- I find it really brilliant how his kindness is the reason why he managed to turn around the weak Han Imperial Family name into something that the people respect and love.
But Bogum are more known for his innocent roles though. :)
