this drama is basically filled with "villains" istg even tho most of them have strong reasons... i was literally so upset when they killed of a lot of FSG soldiers, like bro the few good people ;v; but like it made me root and love the good ones even more haha FSG, FYX, lord ling etc...
but i seriously cannot come to not hate FXY bc she basically made herself a villain and got revenge on someone who never did her any wrong in terms of feelings?? She willingly let him use her. Then she blames him?? but respect for her believing her brother finally ig... as for jingyang, love the actor but this character is just naurrr (as in the chracter's character not like the character of the story idk how to explain i think im just blabbering atp) but he makes the whole story interesting and i can be happy when i see him die so :)
PS this is all just my opinion im just not willing to forget abt this dramahelp
In the novel the main couple got a happy ending and had a kid but his sister died though
if by ex husband u mean jingshi then if i didn remember wrongly, he became emperor of jinxiu instead (not surpries since his brother is an a hole), forgot what exactly happned to the emeperor (jingshi brother) but since jingshi is emperor hes not the emperor anymore

sorry i only read like some random chapters of the novel while waiting for new eps, mostly the last part, so for this my understanding is kinda limited but from what i know,
So basically prince jingshi never ended up loving princess xiyang like she thought she would (thats literally her own delusions bc he never cheated her feelings and told her that he will not force her to marry him bc he knows will never love her but the xiyang was like "i can change him"). This pissed xiyang off and she finaly could not take it so the emperor of jinxiu (jingshi brother whose crazy to me lol) who likes xiyang took advantage of her and convinced her to get revenge for "not loving her despite everything she has done for him" (MIGHT I ADD SHE DID IT ON HER OWN ACCORD, the jingshi even told her she did not need to). So emepror and xiyang worked together to supress jing shi.
basically she not only did not protect jingshi but also exacerbated his crisis, eventually leading to a military confrontation between the two. during the chaotic battle, yixiao (FL) settled the seriously injured xiyang in the mountains, and i think it was jingshi who said that if he won, he would come back for her but if he lost he would see her in the afterlife smth like that (Im guessing he did it out of guilt or pity maybe). In the end, jingshi did win but xiyang alr died.
I’m on episode 1 and I’m a bit confused. they already know each other? are we going to see a flashback at…
Not sure what u meant but basically they were enemies (she shot him in the chest at the start), but looking at how he needed a painting of her they probably did not know each other personally before that day where she shot him. After that they both got hurt by people they know supposingly on their side. FL fell off cliff, hit her head and lost her memories (including who shot her off the cliff). ML has a lot of people who hate him because his the first prince, officials on his side are corrupt so he ended up having to hide away from them too plus he's heavily wounded.
Then they (ML FL) somehow ended up in the same secret medicinal pool, she does not remember anything, including ML which she knew she was supposed want dead, but he remembers her who was on the enemies side and shot him. ML had a painting of her bc he was looking for who shot him, which FL found so she deduced that they knew each other.
So, yes, they kinda already knew each other? Anyone correct me if im wrong
(but they are "enemies" more of a loyalty to country thing, no personal grudges between them, so they eventually fell in love after knowing each other personally)
