Subs are out on fastdrama. I was lucky since I found the subs (that were just uploaded 2 days ago) as soon as I finished the drama. I have to say the drama was more emotional for me. There was something about the drama that went missing in the movie.
This maybe seemed like a slow episode, or it felt different, but I think this was the most significant episode of this drama. From now on I think everything will be revealed slowly. And I think what happened was that:
KEVIN LEE WASN'T MURDERED!!! It was just an accident. No one killed him I'm almost sure at this point now. I think the old police man started to accuse her because as soon as her name came up, he was reminded of that old case where she was a teenager. He couldn't arrest her at that time even if he was sure she was the murderer, so now he does everything he can to arrest her. And after she reported about those corrupt guys, who have power over the media and the prosecution, the took the move of the police as an advantage to eliminate her. The first half of this drama was about Kevin Lee and his suspicious death. But the second half will be about how Go Hye Ran and Kang Tae Wook will fight against the corrupt guys.
I’m really looking forward to it!!!! I’m hoping for a gritty noir too! OCN should be a good sign too *fingers…
I don't know many good Noir Dramas, but one drama that has a similar tone that I love is Signal. Other than that White Christmas an Bad Guys could be also a choice. But Signal is my first choice.
Of course Doctor's Son is #1. It was his best role, and honestly, there isn't another character like him that was so charismatic like he was in Cruel City. I'm really looking forward to his next project especially since it's the same Director that made Cruel City. I hope it's a Dark Noir Genre. And Great Article! I totally Agree with you Cruel City is really on a level on its own.
I think the guy in prison is Eun Joo's brother and loved Go Hye Ran. Someone wanted to rape Hye Ran and he killed him and the guy took the blame. Eun Joo was of course mad at Hye Ran and now she is taking revenge on her. I think she planned everything
This is such a rollercoaster ride. I don't know how many times I was left breathless in just 4 eps. I can't believe that it's so good. The female lead could make it on top of my favorite female leads, she is just amazing, and yes I know morally she isn't the best, but who cares. And this drama is HOT, like seriously hot *fans self*.
I started this drama with really high hopes. And I also enjoyed it, but with each episode I kinda lost interest in it. Especially since it got really popular and the last two weeks there was a lot hype about a possible sad ending that threw me off. The plotline in the last two eps were totally unneccessary for me. BUT in general it was a good drama. It had a sweet melancholic undertone which I normally love. I thought this could be one of my favorite dramas that there was something that was missing for me to get invested 100%. I would still recommend this drama to someone who looks for a calming melodrama.
OMG they are really doing the pillow book with the same cast??? I'm sooo happy. Otherwise I wouldn't watch it cause those two were perfect for the roles. I can't wait for it.
This drama was the best thing that came out in 2017, seriously. It was such an amazing journey. Every episode was filled with laughter and sadness at the same time, it was like a rollercoaster ride. I loved how every character was fleshed out and the writer focused on everyone instead of just the lead. Such a heartwarming drama, which I didn't really expect at the beginning since I couldn't imagine something like this from a drama that plays in a prison.
My only complaints: - The first episode was a little slow for me and tense, - the lack of female characters (which ok I understand since it's an all-male prison, which is why I want a second season for a female-prison with ra mi ran in the cast if possible), - and Han-Yang. He deserved better.
