Not what I expected but I enjoyed it a lot
Yeah definitely go in blind.I wanted to watch this because I saw the poster and photos and thought it would be cute and interesting, and it definitely was interesting! Just not in the way I expected.
It has a pretty good story (albeit the very obvious… material…. at the beginning LMAO they knew what they were doing) and it kept me interested the whole way through.
As someone who normally doesn’t enjoy movies, I surprisingly would reccomend! It’s relatively short so that’s nice too heh

the most refreshing j-drama i've seen in a while
this show had me hooked the whole way through, not a dull moment! the show gives commentary on social issues in an easily digestible way that doesn't villainize the person who is "different" as seen in some shows like this. i liked how it didn't shy away from showing how hikaru's parent's views of him affected him when him and haruka started dating and when he met her mother, however i wish it was integrated better than his parents showing up in one of the last episodes, it was kind of out of no where. i also liked how none of the male leads were toxic towards the female lead or vice versa, that's somewhat rare lol. my only gripe aside from how hikaru's parents were presented is... the overly bubbly airhead female lead... can we please let this character lay to rest!! i think ichicka osaki did a great job at making me not hate her but my god this character is so overused 😂Was this review helpful to you?

perfect show with a horrible ending
like seriously what was that ending? aside from bringing the actors for cuicui and his grandpa back i hated almost everything about it.. no closure with yao or fuyi????but ending aside, this show was perfect in the beginning!! it wasn’t until episode 25ish where i got a little bored because it was just that engaging. i think the casting was PERFECT and the music/audio engineering was amazing. i love love LOVE the concept but i really just wish they did the end justice because that “it was all just a dream” ending really made me mad. i wanted to know what happened with the rest of the four bamboo masters!!
