I didn't get into L&P easily. But on rewatch, the first episode has so much meaning and makes sense. If you can push through the first few episodes, you might find yourself hooked. The beauty is in seeing this introverted ML who is focused on his career and yet treats the FL in a way it is clear she is special to him. To me, the chemistry is L&P is unique.

I enjoyed this drama. I love female leads who are martial artists. I am not sure why anyone would complain about her size. I simply enjoyed the choreography.

I loved their relationship! It was mature and loving. I rewatched that ending many times. It was beautiful and I felt there were symbolism used to add meaning. Zhang Jing Yi is a natural actress. I enjoy watching her. If you have not seen Lighter & Princess, she is outstanding in that.

It was a HE but I feel as if I don't want to say goodbye and it should have been more. It was only about 1 min of them seeing each other.

The thing about Bright Eyes in the Dark is that I kept rewatching the ending looking for clues. It was a good thing it was such a great bunch of viewers on that forum because they didn't go after me for being deluded😂 I made quite a few friends on that page.

Ever since that ending I have trust issues with directors. It caused such an uproar that the director had to hide and Johnny Huang and Jing Yi made a last minute livestream to explain the ending. Johnny Huang said his character did not die and that it was an open ending. This is the reason the rating is so low. It was higher before.

There are some that start early. Bright Eyes in the Dark had such wonderful chemistry from early on but the ending was such a shock! Nobody saw it coming especially when the book had a wedding scene.

The only thing with this drama is that it got draggy for me toward the end and I set mortal world at fast speed but put it back to normal when I got to ep 32. Sima Jiao was everything to me. To me he was at a different level than the rest of the drama. He is the reason I kept watching. I don't know how to explain it.

Sima Jiao is going to be a tough act to follow.
