I started watching even though there are some harsh comments in here.
Is the romance satisfying or does it take a long time for Xu Yao and Jia En to get back together? They are both good-looking. That is a big plus for me as well as the second chance trope. LOL!

Is Story of Kunning Palace going to have a tragic ending?
I don't expect open endings with modern Cdramas but You Are Desire I dropped at ep 16 as soon as I heard the ending was left up in the air. I wasn't that invested in it anyways. But with Bright Eyes in the Dark I loved the couple so much only to have the director get creative at the ending and did not deliver the happy ending that is in the book!

I don't remember which episode it changed for me. It was after Yu died. I kept watching because according to the book she leaves to go to the US then she comes back and they reconcile and gets married. Did not happen. I wish I could write director a letter. It was so good before all the last few episodes. Right now I am liking Rising With the Wind and hope it will be a happy ending.

I do not know why a directer or writer would change and original story to leave viewers feeling sad or stop any prospective viewer from watching. The couple was so good together though.

I don't know who would like this type of ending. It does not leave anyone feeling happy. But I did watch the last 15 mins over and over looking for answers.
