I don't know what the link posted by awds is. I went to it and couldn't find the chapters. I also read the last few chapters of the book and I don't see anything about the couple breaking up. In fact, it seems to be a happy ending.

I did not read the book, but I am wondering if she really gets hurt or if she is just supposed to stay off her foot for a while. The doctor told her she is not supposed to do any strenuous exercise for 24 hrs after anaethesia and maybe the reason she didn't answer the phone is because she didn't want to tell Lu.
