I don’t feel it was really rushed. In the actual novel we don’t even get a wedding just proposal, so being able to see a little glimpse of it was a treat for me.
But you’re right it would have been fun to see beyond the wedding scene.

😭😭😭💔. I can’t believe it’s over!!!! The tears I’ve shed are unbelievable, I’ve never cried so hard with a Cdrama like this one. He yu is amazing he nailed everything single roll in this drama. The way He Yu just looked at Ester Yu he was addicted, passionate and madly in love, every emotion was conveyed beautifully; And Ester was amazing like always. The way they incorporated all the good stuff from the novel 🤌🏻💋. I think she knew deep down inside that he wasn’t. The mother hates him so FL knows that’s not normal. I could never fall in love with someone growing up as my blood brother even though I find out they are not. To me and my peace of mind I’m guessing she also felt the blood tie was not there too.

It was a tender love they felt not a creepy sexual love. When she was a child she believed they were siblings because she was too young to question it.
As she grew, she sensed the lie — especially through the mother’s behavior — and chose not to confront it, because acknowledging it would open emotions she wasn’t ready to face.
ML has always cherished her. The novel doesn’t say directly but it’s obvious that as he grew up more his feelings changed from endearing to affectionate love and hers too, after ML left with father and she became a young teen.

This is such a nuanced topic, so this is my opinion and understanding based on what I read in the novel. The FL and ML lead did grow up together somewhat. I believe he left around 11 or 12 and she’s about 4 or 5 years younger. The FL mother was always wary of the relationship between them because the affection they showed one another was different. The way they took care of each other and missed each other is not a normal sibling relationship, at least not in my opinion, maybe some siblings do 🤷🏻‍♀️. But when she finally sees him after so many years and knows he’s not her blood brother she sees him in a different light because in reality he has changed due to all his suffering/struggles. I think that’s why her switch was drastic. I think deep down inside she knew they weren’t real siblings because of how much the mother despised him.

I haven’t cried this much at the start of a drama. If it follows the novel, which mostly it has up until know, it gets even better ❤️. Love both leads beautiful cast.

I agree lol, it’s for sure not for just anyone. I was……actually kind of disappointed with the novel. I hate when they leave you with uncertainty and this one novel has that. It was short but not sweet.

of course he’s a red flag. Yes they were in a kind of relationship. I read it sometime ago but if I remember correctly, he was trying to make her jealous. She hadn’t forgave him yet and he was trying to get her attention. By all means, I’m not saying that’s something that should happen in a relationship, that’s just how immature he is at finding love. He still feels like he deserves to be seen and loved the way he is. But take my comments with a grain of salt.

If it follows the novel, mostly, it should be. I found the novel funny and he’s the perfect ML for it.

It’s a comedy. It’s suppose to be dumb. I liked it a lot, it has romance but I found it very funny and entertaining. ML is a narcissist, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, he thinks everyone should be as vain as him. She isn’t ugly, she’s quite beautiful but she’s a natural beauty. He sees her as plain and wants to make her feel bad and tells her she’s manly. Thru his character development he learns that what’s in the heart is beautiful too. That’s why the sudden change. But yes, I agree, the description of FL and ML in novels is repetitive and can be annoying but only if you let it be.

ummm I see, you want wholesome/ sense of realism. Yea, this definitely isn’t in that genre. But I hope you do find something that will keep you interested.

Yes it’s over used and unrealistic at times; but then again it’s fiction and exaggerated. If I wanted something real I just watch documentaries or movies that are based on true stories. So You probably wouldn’t like the novel either. Basically the mom is a psychopath in the novel. But in the novel she doesn’t know she’s adopted. They have changed quite a few things from the novel and now that I’ve seen thru episode 25 the storyline was stale. Mydramanovel.com has the novel in English but with what you have mentioned it probably isn’t your cup of tea. The novel does touch sensitive subjects: Suicide, sexual dysfunction due to trauma / ptsd, cult following , supposed incest, child abuse to name a few.

I get what you are saying and I can see why you think that way . I don’t know if you’ve read the novel, but if you haven’t, and have time I recommend you do. Is it an unrealistic story? Yes, but it’s fiction and exaggerated. I just focused on the character development. The drama doesn’t really portray the true character as the novel does. I like the drama but I did find it a bit silly at times. But since I have read the novel and due to China’s censorship, I can see why somethings were changed.
But, then again that’s just my opinion/recommendation.

Yes what you’re saying is true. But in the novel it sounds a bit more realistic and he chases her for a while before she actually confronts him. It’s a thin line between love and hate and she crosses that line when she doesn’t help him getting beat up. They changed the drama a bit so something didn’t really make sense. I recommend you read the novel if you have the time. It will help this drama make more sense a bit. And for me, the novel was not as comedic as the drama.

I agree!, this is here better acting role. In the novel she is written this way, which helps XYXstay within character. I honestly feel FL was even more of a badass in the novel. but of course they did change the story a bit and omitted some stuff. Probably because of episodes and timing; It’s a long novel. I think for a cdrama it was pretty good. I enjoyed watching it.

In my opinion, it’s neither one. The relationship between the Main Leads is not the conventional type. ML is very controlling and he feels he needs to be this was to help her become a better person and help with her mental illness. At some point you do have the typical light and fluffy stuff but it’s not excessive. The novel writing in terms of physical affection, is there but not as detailed and intimate as other novels. I would also like to add that, this novel has quite a bit of comedy sprinkled in.
