I love how his battle with the Tianyu Dharma is so over the top lol. Does anyone know if he speeches before he ascends up to fight are any references? It feels like they're quotes from typical wuxia novels or something.
I'm a huge fan of the family dynamics! The dad is fantastic, the mom warmed up nicely, the sisters are fun, and of course the star is the little brother! These past two episodes and their small focus on him and Simu's romance has been real fun to see.
It's got huge Joy of Life vibes and I'm all here for it. (JOL stands as one of my favorite cdramas ever too)
I find it a bit tough to believe that LR is struggling so much with opening up and loving someone else, when it only took her 2-3 years to put PWX aside and switch over to SRQ for almost 2 decades? I get the tension and angst that they're trying to utilize in these episodes, but it's hard to put that aside lol.
Maybe if she hadn't had such a romantic relationship already I would have definitely gone with it a bit more, but seeing the drama that they're spinning up makes me scoff a little.
Li Rong's emotions seem more palpable. You can see she has lingering feelings. There's a clear sense of longing…
From my understanding, his feelings were purely platonic in wanting to help a childhood friend but LR misunderstood it as romantic.
Based on what I read in the spoiler discussion thread, there was a moment he wanted to clarify the misunderstanding and his feelings for LR but at that point LR and SRQ were already intimate and she had enough of PWX. From what I recall, LR and SRQ were FWBs for 17 years out of her 20 years of marriage with PWX, so there's probably a bit of resentment.
I personally think the longing from PWX is there for LR, and not the other way around as much. I think he loves her so much, he would rather sacrifice their relationship again (e.g. talks about divorce) and give LR (what he thinks is a happier ending) with SRQ. LR on the otherhand so far has only had eyes for SRQ and seems to be using PWX as a means to an end/friendzoned.
(1) I have a hard time believing ZJM is scheming mostly because I think she looks like Cottonball from the Secret…
Agree with your points. In regards to #3/5, that's also a big gripe for me too. They're full fledged adults who have lived a whole-ass (although short lived) already, they should be better about resolving their issues. But on the other hand, I understand why it's taking time - they spent 10+ years already with bad blood and misunderstandings, it's not going to get fixed in a matter of a few weeks/months either.
This is exactly how I see both leads. Let's hope they find something redeemable so that in their second chance…
I'm looking forward to seeing how they ultimately address these and clear the air between them. Lots of unspoken angst between these two, though LR may have taken it too far by becoming intimate with SRQ especially for all those years.
Does it lead to the crown prince getting killed off? It's rare in these struggles for the crown for the crown prince to actually step down and pass it on to someone else, AND live. I liked the crown prince, but he's starting to rub me the wrong way, especially with him eyeing that other wife.
They won't be married for a while. There is a year engagement then something happens and LBY is sent away for…
Sounds good, thanks for the spoilers! I happily await it all! I hope part 2, starts immediately after. I don't know if I could take a cliffhanger and then time off!

Is part 2 mostly going to be with CSS and YS then? Do we still get to figure out what LBY is up to during those 5 years? Makes more sense now because there's a scene in the trailer about CSS asking LBY to not go through with his revenge.

What is the so called tragic ending? I really don't want to see her engaged to Yuan Shen, he's just so slimy and arrogant that I don't see how he'll turn his character around.
I really thought their relationship would mend after they slapped the hell out of the Lou 's mother and daughter…
I wrote about it before, but it really seems like she's treating CSS more like if she were a soldier under her command. Harsh, unforgiving, and only wants one routine/rigid way, the mom's way. There's only so much being away for years at war that people will accept, at some point the mom has to reach that epiphany herself that she's causing more harm.
