It wasn't great, but it surely wasn't the worst I've seen. The characters are flawed humans, to the point of being toxic to themselves & others. Probably would've benefited from some therapy. But then we wouldn't have had such a complicated & dramatic love ... mess? What do you even call it when that many people are involved?! 😅
But after watching this, I do feel like I could somehow group this with other jdramas like Scum's Wish, Liar, Perfect Crime. ... 🤔🤷♀️
exactly! i wanna start this so bad too but the one ep per week is killing me. 😭
I really can't do it. It's the same with The Killing Vote. I didn't start it until last week because of the 1 ep/week nonsense... And now I have to wait 1 ep/week for the last 3 weeks 🙄. They really like to drag these dramas out. 😑
I'm excited to watch this, but I guess I'm going to have to wait to start watching it. I really cannot stand waiting so long in between episodes. I forget what happened in the last episode, & then the drama loses my attention. Why are they starting to do this 1 ep/week with some kdramas? It's annoying. 😕
Only place I saw it was in this MDL article. but like you said, I see nothing on Viki at all. https://kisskh.at/article/yoo-seung-ho-s-the-perfect-deal-confirms-broadcast-in-about-200-countries
That would certainly be better than not getting it at all... but it's disappointing we can't watch it (legally) while it's airing. 😔
i'm only now picking this up as in being really interested in the story tbh the first 3 eps were okay the rest…
Does it get better? Is it worth it? I've only been able to finish first 3 eps, and am struggling to continue watching. I want to like it, but, idk. It's not hooking me in. 😕
That was beautifully well done - by the writers, actors, & the staff who helped produce it. A realistic & sad, but impactful, story. I'm gonna go cry now. 😭💔
I'm sad that production was delayed so much & they had so many problems during filming that it affected not only the actors, actresses, all of the staff, & the story, but also us - the viewers. We all suffered because of this.
That last episode - the plot/story "ending" that they pieced together - was a hot mess & a big disappointment. I hate that I was left with so many unanswered questions. 😫😭
Which like you said, is a pity, because PHJ was awesome. As usual. He played all 4 roles so perfectly.
I've only watched the first 2 eps so far, but it doesn't seem like it
I felt like the drama could have had a lot of potential, had it not run into so many production problems. To me, the first 5 episodes are pretty coherent & intriguing. But unfortunately they cut the story short, so the ending (episode 6) was rather botched. By the end of it so much feels unresolved, & you're left with several unanswered questions.
That being said, I am a fan of Park Hae Jin & I really liked his acting in it, so I watched it all the way through twice, regardless of how much the ending disappointed (& kind of confused) me. First time I watched without subs, 2nd time with subs. I don't know if I'd recommend it so much for the plot, because it was never really quite resolved (not cleanly), but to see PHJ it was worth it. 🤷♀️
But idk why the end was unnecessary I guess they wanted to go out with a bang or whatever they thought so. they…
Yeah I would've definitely preferred him going awol over dying too. 😔 But, I prefer him dying over getting locked up in prison (I feel like he had suffered enough as a victim all his life). And I totally agree about philip's death being unnecessary.
Yes, it sucks that he dies. But if you watch the drama, through to the last scene, you'll see (& kind of understand) why it all happened the way it did. Honestly, to me, arresting him at that point would have been more unrealistic than him possibly dying. The cops did what they felt they had to, even if it was a little excessive. Yes, it's a sad ending, but good story.
