I also thought he could be related to Su-Yeon but I read quite a few comments saying his intentions were bad. Until this week he seemed interested in Mirae. I think your theory is right though.

I think he still suspects her and given his quiet nature doesnāt argue with her. He didnāt really look convinced after she kinda overreacted to being called Mi Ji.
