I think GMM BL are overrated on MDL by 0.2 or 0.3 pts cause of their die hard fans who gonna like watherver they…
Mmhmm!! I wish there was a way to fix this. I almost wish their were two scores: Watcher's score and then maybe a critics score. That way it's somewhat telling of the truth.
I recommend watching just cause I'm curious about your opinion (Lol), but honestly... (SPOILER of S2 AHEAD!!!)
They play the same cat and mouse chase in season 2 as well, up until a certain point. Since I was just such a fan of this series, it didn't bother me as much, but I can see how many others find this to be the overall negative effective of the series. Still, I'd say give it a try!
I think what's screwing up the MDL rating is the concept of virality and trending. I've learned in recent days that in order for a series to perform well in the eyes of the higher ups in BL companies, there must be a certain percentage or number of how much a couple is talked about to based their probability of getting another series. That is mostly for social media, but I would also think that MDL plays a big role too, internationally. But let's be honest, the MDL ratings have never been very accurate of a series, but I feel like it for real isn't accurate anymore. This is no hate to people that genuinely loved this, this is no hate to JimmySea or the people behind this series, but this should be a 7.8-8.2 at best. What happens is that you have fans that will rate a series 10 out of 10 for every aspect, and if enough people do that, it raises the importance and hype around it. Well, I have learned my lesson, i need to stay away from MDL ratings, period, lol.
An unlikely premise, straight out of some trope ridden C drama, but it has that feel of reality. The detail put…
I LOVE the fact that they aren't white-washing the actors. Getting to see Winny's freckles is such a pleasure.
I agree, I had no idea this series would deliver as well as it has been. So far, every episode has been written perfectly, and they're able to go below the surface and not be so disney-fied with the story. We have a recovering drug addict, men who like to smoke (weed at that) and other political, realistic problems. I'm loving it!!!!
I was just telling my friend the other day how I'm so sick of BL series going from "let's kiss for the first time" to in the next scene "we're going to have full blown sex". Where's the second bases, the groping, the subtle touching of intimate parts, innocent touches that become turn ons, intense make outs, sexual activities outside of sex like blowjobs, handjobs, grinding, etc.? How come we never see that in BL, why is it straight to sex? and then I watched this. It. Was. All. So. Perfect. Chian and Fou4mod in the photo booth, Bua and Baa while Bua is doing skincare. THAT scene where they talk about hooking up and mimic sex positions. Clothes on. Beautiful. Brilliant. Glorious. The best non-sex-sex scene I've ever watched. I loved it. Also, the kisses were just perfect between each couple, and THANK GOD they didn't cover the sounds made with music. Let us hear them being in love, thank you!!
Nothing spectacular, but already, I can tell Sea's acting has improved since Only Boo!
Also, am I going crazy, or does New look, ironically, brand new?? I had to check that it was actually him, just something looks different, but I literally can't pinpoint it.
Could not agree more. I was so shocked to see how relatively high the overall rating of this was. And, most of the reviews on here are pretty positive. I also agree, the best was the cinematography, which Japan always nails perfectly.
Jade and Chai are literally the cutest. I can't really tell where the story is going with their relationship seeing as Chai is on the younger side, but it seems they might be gearing towards a relationship? I really can't tell.
"Because GMMTV prioritizes the actors before the piece of work they're trying to create."This part. Any…
Mhmm!! That's so aggravating to watch a unique storyline and plot go to waste because they just HAD to have an already established couple play the roles that they never could've played in the first place!
Like, there's no way I would've felt the same way about this series if Rati's character was played by an actor who could actually speak fluent French. No hate to Inn, I love him, but it takes you completely out of the story when you hear him trying to speak French and it's broken as hell.
Started episode one, and halfway through, I feel like I've missed three episodes. Why did we randomly just jump straight into action, no story, no build-up.... Like, I don't even know which actor is associated with which animal (besides pig, tiger, and monkey), jeez.
So far, I really like this. Maybe cause it has a lot to do with my favorite tropes, aka city boys meets country boy, but also, the shots in this are BRILLIANT. so many beautiful nature and animals shots.
I think there are some parts that can be a little tedious, but it's not enough to be boring quite yet. Let's see how the rest of this goes!
"I can understand wanting a character to have some pureness, some innocent-ness to them, but Rak was treated like…
So I'm not the only one who thought those NC scenes were so weird!! Like, either go the full cutesy-ness, or give me nothing!
Yeah, I honestly think Kong and Thomas work well together, I just think they were handed the short end of the stick when it comes to these new shows with new actors that Domundi is trying out. I think they knew this series wasn't good, the script mediocre, but they were trying to gauge fans reactions and likelihood of following Kong and Thomas as an established pair. Hopefully, they serve more cunt in The Next Prince, or otherwise, I have no hope for them in the future.

It's so soap-opera-y, and I can't tell if I love it or hate it yet. But I got to see Kenta's pecks poking out of his shirt, so for now, I'm great!!!

As someone who finished this series, I liked reading people's opinions on why they dropped.
The verdict: you're spot-on lol
I finished because I have this weird need to finish things I've started, but this could've easily been dropped by me too.
