I wish this wasn't so silly-ha-ha and took itself a bit more seriously. This concept is fun, but with this humorous route, none of the stakes feel major.
The trailer was entirely too much information and not enough at the same time. Why oh why do they feel the need to add any kissing scenes in trailers, I feel like I'm being spoiled. This was a whole lot of nothing, so we'll see.
From what the director me and thee said on X, he told Phuwin to feel the pain rather than act out crying, because…
Having worked in production before, there's nothing time-consuming about touching up makeup. There's people on set at the ready to do touch-ups, taking anywhere from a few seconds to a couple minutes. If anything, the fact they they had to move quickly just furthers that GMMTV prioritizes the need to get things out quickly instead of trying to perfect their craft (sigh). I also shouldn't have to understand parts of the behind-the-scenes to understand why something didn't work so poorly.
Also, if they wanted to go the "painful" route, they should've reworked the script so that Thee asking, "why are you crying?" or icing Peach's eyes after "crying a lot" wasn't in it.
Phuwin had prior knowledge of his schedule and when filming would occur, so he could've put his non-emergency surgery on the back burner until then. But even still, they could've at least put some eyedrops in his eyes or something, that scene in the hospital is painful to watch.
This role feels tailor-made for Pond. Historically, I haven’t been a fan of his acting or line delivery, but this is the series where it finally clicks. That’s both a good and bad thing. Unless they continue casting him in over-the-top, dramatic roles, this may very well be the peak of his acting career. It’s still not perfect, but it’s a massive improvement over We Are, and especially Fish Upon the Sky.
Phuwin, on the other hand, was surprisingly underwhelming for me. I don’t think this is Pond’s overacting overshadowing him so much as Phuwin struggling to fully deliver. There's scenes where he's suppose to be crying, but not even a tear slips. Unless he's rolling his eyes at Thee's antics, or teasing his sister, his acting in this doesn't really work for me (Phuwin took his shirt off and I almost had a seizure, when did he become so perfectly fit, the literal definition of sleeper build).
not to be rude but if your rating a series don't carry rumors about actor into a series cause it looks like your…
That’s the great thing about reviews: you’re not required to read them, and you’re certainly not required to comment. This also wasn’t a “rumor.” It was a proven fact that Joss was following multiple politicians whose beliefs and ideologies directly contradict the very genre he gets to benefit from. If you don’t believe in that kind of system, then yes, it’s fair to question why you’d actively follow people who do.
So yes, it felt weird to me. And yes, it affected how I view him. FOR ME. Which I clearly stated in my review. He also was not the reason I stopped watching MGB. The show is cheesy, the plot didn’t resonate with me, and fortunately, there’s better content out there than this.
That said, have yourself a happy New Year. Maybe you're New Year resolution can be to learn how to use punctuation!
The endgame pairing is too predictable, justice for Mr. Jeon, and if Haram was going to be as trivial as he was in this, they could've at least let him be shirtless once.
There's just so many other non-sensical tropes/devices that happen. Daon waited how long to tell Jaemin he liked him? And then coincidentally, Suhyeon shows up? What? And then you learn that Jaemin is a nutcase, and you think about it, and you're like, "You really committed to a no-dating contract that hard that in the time of Suhyeon leaving to go abroad and now, you never thought to finally make your move?" Like...what? Then you have Seonghyeon who is determined not to leave Daon's side even when Daon is telling him it'll never work out, but suddenly he sees a hickey, and he's done? The same Seonghyeon that has been willing to listen and observe this entire time doesn't wanna hear Daon's side anymore? Are we serious?
AWKARD NERD AND THE ATHLETE THAT PROTECTS HIM. I'm so excited for this, especially the (potential?) aspect of Sea's character if they decide to go down the neurodivergent route.
when i said that i wanted gmmtv to make a series about a gay couple, where one partner has AIDS / HIV, i didn’t…
I doubt this will be a sad ending, just cause GMMTV disney-fies everything, so I'm petty sure we can guarantee at the very least, an open-eneded ending.
His little finger that was fidgeting as he's leaning in to kiss Qin, MY HEART.
- AI slop at every corner
- boring
- audio is annoyingly bad
- NC scenes, woo-hoo, but they are lowkey kind of cringe
I was going to put this on-hold, but let's be honest, if I'm not watching this weekly, there's no chance I will want to binge watch it in the future.
They are pretty young, but this looks like the comfort show of the year. I can't help but have a lot of love for HS BLs and first love :)

Their relationship also seems face-paced, which I hate, so we'll see if I keep up with this one for real.
APPALLED.
