Am I the only one that wishes that they wouldn't have made it clear who Theo gets with? Like, it would've actually been fun to see five guys go after him and have no clue where anything was going, or who he was going to end up with. Gosh.
I feel you on the kiss. I'm more of a slow-burn type person, and I don't usually comment on the intimacy stuff, but that kiss in ep 3 was something different. I think it was the simplisticness of the kiss that got me. Nothing sloppy or over-the-top -- just a nice kiss where you could actually tell that they both wanted to kiss one another. The actors seemed comfortable enough, and it was perfect. It's the kiss we deserve in every BL.
That's something I wonder quite often about. A lot of people on MDL throw around 10s like it's nothing, even if…
I enjoyed BB too, just it's very far from 10's all around. I think people get caught up in the hype of something and don't think to actually see the series for what it is versus how it's perceived in the media. No one that gives 10s all-around takes the time to analyze the characters or the plot or the conflicts -- they just throw done tens cause they enjoyed something in the moment and don't think to actually dissect it. I've been a victim of this too, but I've fixed my ways. Hopefully, others will too.
Absolutely in love with your review. You were able to dive deep into your thoughts and actually give great statements in regards to certain parts of the show. It's so nice to read a review that is so thorough rather than the rest of these reviews that were pretty much repetitive and 10s all around.
Another GMMTV BL called Vice Versa, starring Jimmy and Sea, as well as guest stars Nanon and Ohm. Although, their body-swap is into the body of another male. Because of that, I'm not as worried about this body swap as I am Cupid's Last Wish.
I was pleasantly surprised by episode 4. One, because we finally got a decent amount of Kim and Copter time. At the brink of hopelessness, Kit says that Mark can do whatever he wanted to him, but Mark declines, wanting it to be something they both needed. Had me a bit teary-eyed. They're just so *aggressive noises cause I don't know how else to explain it*. I wasn't feeling Pok and Tong, but their storyline definitely picked up this episode. I'm loving the angst. (And that shower scene, oh my god). Wayu and Thanu are now just being pretty cute boyfriends instead of being all moppy. I'm so happy where this series is going. This had to probably be one of my favorite episodes so far.
Episode 3 review - Kim and Copter stole this episode and they only got maybe 5 minutes of screen time together. The best part is seeing just how much Kit has fallen in love with Mark, especially when we look back at his attitude and demeanor in season one. He even admits to Pha that speaking about his feelings for Mark is weird, but has no problem explaining that he is truly in love with him. Their domestic lovey-dovey shiz is the freaking cherry on top. I see everyone complaining about Sandee, but still, I'm here for him being the evil villain. We still don't know what his motivation for being malicious is. My thought is that he might be in love with Phai, maybe Pha, or maybe even Kit or Mark and trying to sabotage their relationship so that he can be there for their downfall and presumably have them fall in love with him. I don't know, just my forecasting. I still don't care too much for Koh or Jack, maybe I can see myself liking them in the future, but, as of now, I don't care where they end up. Same feelings towards Tong and Pok, their "no kissing" thing is weird, especially since they've already done the deed. Next episode it seems like they'll finally kiss, so maybe I'll start caring then. Wayu and Thanu are still a bit aggravating, but in this episode, they were pretty cute. I'm ready for their relationship to finally go somewhere, cause I'm bored. The next episode looks like it'll be fun.
Evil Sandee ftw! I think he followed Kit to the library because he noticed that Kit's medical textbook was open…
Omg, thank you for the clarification on Sandee. I think I was only half paying attention to that scene cause I could've sworn it was Mark that texted him.
I saw someone comment that this show is stuck in 2017, and I couldn't agree more. While this isn't the most progressive, life-altering, cinematic BL ever, it's still that type of BL that I could sit and watch and know that it won't make me feel bad. We got a bunch of cute shit with Kit and Mark. I just love Copter so much that at this point it's scary. Tong and Pok were cool. For some reason, I'm not really feeling them this season. I still can't wrap my head around how Tong is perfectly fine with doing the deed but crosses the line at kissing. ...? It's ludicrous. Wayu, Thanu, and Phai's situation is becoming more and more of a headache. If Phai tells you that he's not in love with Thanu, and that he talks about you all the time then what is STILL the problem?? It looks like it'll be resolved next episode, but geez Wayu, my goodness. I honestly love Sandee. I'm here for him being the scheming, scary Uni student (although, I wonder why he was going after Kit since he had nothing to do with Wayu or Thanu..?). I still think he and Sab would be pretty cute. They're trying to make Ko and Jack a thing, but similar to Pok and Tong, I don't really care. There are so many problems with this series, but I love it so much, it's so cheesy and tropey that I can't help but love it.
This is just really slow. The plot progression is just going forward at a crawl. It's perhaps not the slowest…
Please, this made me belly laugh so hard. So glad to know I wasn't the only one that struggled through Love With Benefits. I couldn't get past like 20 minute without falling asleep.
hmm. That's weird. the link still works for me, but if you're interested in participating, then you can go up to the "community" page, scroll down to forums. i've heard there was some friction between Mike and Toptap...so idt we'll be able to see them anytime soon ㅠㅠ
Allegedly, Mike unfollowed Toptap and deleted all of their pictures together on his Instagram. Toptap explained he had no clue what was going on and didn't want to speak about it. a rumor was going around that Mike had a girlfriend (some thinking it was TamaGodji) and she forced him to delete their photos. Again, I'm not a hundred percent sure on any of this. This was a while ago, so thing could've changed by now. I don't really keep up with the actors anymore.
I'm hopeful that this series lives up to my expectations. It's completely different than any BL series that GMMTV had done before. I have full hope that Off and Gun will be able to pull it off (also Gawin !!!!!)
Idk if anyone is interested, but I created an End of the Year BL review that has just a bunch of questions about your favorite/least favorites of this year and your most anticipated for 2022! It's not technically the end of the year yet, but you can get your questions ready to answer! I'm hoping for some replies cause I'm very intrigued to see other people's takes in this year of BL.
