Still haven't caught up on latest episodes. But it's so funny, it should be called 'Journey to No privacy', everyone is always up on each others' business.

yes. For me what I enjoy now is not really the CP but the overall chemistry within the group. I like this adventure camarederie/brotherhood type of stories. I definitely hope no one dies pls🥹.

To each their own, I guess I personally do not feel as passionate about celebs or dramas as others. You can tell I love LBFAD and adore DW in it, but I don't mind when others point out somebody who can play it better so long as they comment on the performance and fit to the character and not something personal. It simply sparks an imagination on how it would have turned out.
Ofcourse If I know LSS in person I wouldn't say anything this sort to her face, but this is a public board and I don't think I attacked her or was hostile about it.

Yes. I don't mind replies like yours and even others who pointed out their dislike for the actresses I mentioned. They are as entitled to their own opinion as I am. There are two commenters here though who were personally attacking me for not liking what they like, I refuse to engage though.
Nonetheless, the ratio of replies are not bad. Everyone assured me LSS was the best fit for the role, and 90% of those reply were non-hostile and actually encouraging to carry on with the series and see how I view LSS later on.
Funny how the some who commented this is a mature drama sounded the most juvenile and hostile in their replies.

you're right. I forgot not everyone is mature enough. I didn't realize ZLS evokes this kind of reaction from some people. I'm just a casual Cdrama viewer who made a harmless comment and have no interest on arguing about celebrities, tbh.

I don't really care much and there is no point arguing back and forth on those comments, I won't be stressed for LuSi lol What I do not like is that some commenters actually not just insult LuSi but also insult me a total stranger they do not know. It's pathetic how some pour a lot of energy and feelings for celebrities and thinks anyone who mention them feels the same passion.

lol I dropped WRTW and HL too. But I thought she was good in the TLB where she was paired with LiuYuning btw. And I thought she was great in LLTG.

haha I kinda liked her in LLTG and TLB. I thought she's versatile. But I do understand, it felt like she accepts all roles and was in too many dramas. The chances of flopping and choosing unsuitable character for her is quite high.

I gotta say it's probably my expectation of the character that is wrong, as what somebody pointed out, her character up until this point (ep17) is supposed to not yet have shown real vulnerability. Looking forward to the later episodes then. :)

I hope so too. :) And I definitely agree LYN, he does exude manliness here. I normally prefer the anti-hero types, but in this one I do not mind at all how upright his character is. haha

hmm. I don't think so, I didn't even know LiuShiShi is older than YiuNing. Apart from a few ones, I don't really follow Cdrama stars in real life. This means I know most stars purely from their acting portfolio. And even with the stars that I like, it doesn't mean I automatically like all their shows, I have dropped about 80% percent of dramas I've started regardless of who the stars are. Elaine Zhong for example, I've only seen her in Rising with the Wind.
Same for Liu Shishi, this is my first time watching her, so it's purely a clean slate of impression.
Don't get me wrong, I think she's a great actress, as you've mentioned she does exude elegance and badassery. There's just something that is not clicking with me, but it's definitely not a bias with age or her as a person. As mentioned, I probably still have to watch a few more episodes and might change my opinion.

I'm on episode 17, obviously still far behind. I'm still liking it, although I've come to realize the story tone is not as serious as I have expected it from the start.
I guess my only comment is I cannot feel chemistry between the two mainleads although they got together early on than most dramas. There's something about Liu ShiShi that's not clicking with me, I know the character is supposed to be strong and all, but it almost felt like she's overdoing it. It's like she's not on same level as ML and she's too mature for him. Her soft and vulnerable moments are just not believable for me.
I kinda wish it was Zhao LuSi, I know she can play tough too. Or also after watching 'Rising with the Wind', I think Elaine Zhong would also be a good match, she looks strong and tough, but she also portray vulnerable moments very well.
Idk, I hope Liu ShiShi grows on me as it progress.

edit: lol some were triggered about some actress name I dropped. I'm sorry I'm not a fanatic who will argue with you about these actors. If you think they suck, then that's a valid opinion, that's your experience. I happen to think they are good in some series I've seen, and that is there all to it. Please be matured enough to realize not everyone who has a different opinion is hostile or is a fanatic. How embarassing is it to argue on the internet for actors who don't even know you, and go as far as personally insult someone who just stated their own opinion as respectfully as they can. You derail open minded and fruitful conversations from happening🤦🏻‍♀️
