Beautiful, thank you. 😊 I used to use MDL ratings to determine what show to watch with my dad, because they usually aligned with our tastes. But there's been way too many misfires lately, and watching the trolls go on a rampage either for or against a show depending on their agenda has really ruined everything. I've gotten tired of apologizing to my dad for starting a show that's wasted both of our time! And then seeing a good show get trashed because of fanatic foolishness has put a sour taste in my mouth.

I was wondering if there was any place left with halfway reliable ratings, and both of you showed up right on time! Thanks! 😇

Thank you so much for this information! I would always take Viki ratings with a grain of salt, because EVERYTHING seemed to be a 10, LOL, but MDL was more reliable. Now, it has zero credibility. I'm going to check out the sites you mentioned -- thank you, again!! :D

What's a reliable site to go to now for ratings? I used to trust MDL, but I don't anymore. Its ratings now seem to be driven by mobs with an agenda, who either glorify or trash a show based on how they feel about an actor/actress instead of the show itself.

Yeah, it's really crazy. The things I see from netizens on this site make me question humanity. People act like they know these actors personally and create entire narratives in their heads that make zero sense, then use those make-believe narratives to trash the actors and their careers. It's beyond bizarre and ridiculous.

Sooo excited for her new role. I'm always happy to see her shining and spreading positivity, putting a much needed smile on my face when there's so much ugliness and petty hatred being spewed nowadays. Can't wait for all her projects to come. 🤗

Man, reading those comments really broke my heart, especially knowing how it all ended. I wonder how some of those people feel now? Particularly that person who blew off her possibly ending her life over the blowback.

They were so confident in their self-righteousness and seemed to enjoy getting wrapped up in the drama, not caring that it was a real person they were trashing based on half-truths and rumor-mongering.

And even after she’s gone, people still won’t let her rest in peace. It’s all so sad…

Thanks for saying it. This place had really turned into a playground…and not a fun one. I’d never witnessed this level of vitriol and bullying (against other posters), with people parked on here 24/7 to police and attack, so it’s been equal parts fascinating yet disturbing.

To answer your actual question, I've been thinking about it...I haven't had any exes die, but my attending their funeral would depend on if we ended on good terms or bad terms. Also if we had stayed in touch. For the most part, though...no.

HOWEVER, even if I didn't attend their funeral, I would most definitely acknowledge the sadness of their passing. And if I were a celebrity, I would post something on my social media honoring their memory and the light that has dimmed in this world with their loss, etc (if it was good terms, LOL). It would just be the decent and compassionate thing to do.

Also, I've been really curious, since I wasn't aware of the Kim Sae Ron DUI scandal until after the fact --was the level of hate comments, cyberbullying, and attacks for her the same as what's happening now for Kim Soo Hyun? Or others who took their lives, like Sulli and Lee Sun Kyun?

I felt sooo horrible for all of them when learning about their suicides but didn't fully understand how...ummm...INTENSE the organized internet attacks against these celebs and anyone who dares not join in the lynching could get until seeing it firsthand right now. Is this the norm?

This whole thing keeps reminding me of one of my favorite Terry Pratchett quotes:

It's pretty insane, right? I feel like I'm watching a live-action K-drama. The drama between the people posting is almost crazier than the actual scandal itself!

Yes, I know all of that, but that was not the question. The question was "Disney+ is going to air this no matter what?" NOT whether or not the actor will be removed from the rest of the filming. So, yes, I think the show will still be aired.

Bloodhounds is still on Netflix. Goodbye Earth is still on Netflix. If it’s already been filmed, it will air. Western media isn’t going to throw away money because of a personal scandal.

For the most part, western media doesn’t really care about actors’ personal scandals. Look at the guy who played The Flash, Ezra Miller. Even one of their most beloved icons had an age-inappropriate relationship: Elvis Presley was 24 when he started dating a 14-yr old Priscilla…

I’ve been pretty disheartened and disgusted by the mob mentality taking place on here. The second anyone has a differing opinion or dares to ask a question that doesn’t fit the “group think,” they’re attacked and called names.

It’s extremely childish and saddens me that mature, constructive dialogue goes out the window when mob mentality kicks in. 😕

I'm not quite sure why my personal viewing preferences are such an issue that I need to keep replying as to why I don't like excessive cussing and sex scenes, but I'll just say this and leave it alone --

I never said that all cussing and sex scenes should be completely excluded from a show. I did, however, say that if they add nothing to the dialogue, scene, or story, they're distracting. And as you just said, they were not needed in this show and felt shoehorned in, so we’re both in agreement.

There's a difference between including these things and relying on them. I've seen plenty of dark and/or mature shows that don't have to rely on cussing and sex to get their point across or create the right atmosphere. These things don't define maturity, and this show could've had the same weight and expressed the same themes without overusing them.

And, yes, if I want to see people having sex, I can watch porn. I do not need to see the act to feel the romance, passion, or longing between characters. There have been MANY shows that successfully portray every nuance, mood, and feeling without showing the actual act. And if it does get added, there's a reason for it and it has more impact.

Also, if I want to hear cussing every other sentence or watch people make out, yes, I can walk down the street. Not seeing it thrown on the screen for no reason doesn't mean I'm shielded from life (which was the point of that statement, which you may have missed). And since we all live on different streets, telling me what I can or cannot see on mine comes across as presumptuous.

I’m well aware of what happens in real life. And if I want to see that, I can walk down the street for it.

When watching a television show, I don’t need F-bombs dropped every other sentence that don’t give any weight or meaning to the dialogue. I don’t need random nudie shots that serve no purpose to the story or the scene. And I don’t need to see people having sex to know that the act was done—I can watch porn for that.

Pointlessly throwing these things into a show to be edgy, controversial, or push the envelope doesn’t enhance the viewing experience for me—it’s actually distracting to me and detracts from the story.
