Would have loved to see satisfying conclusions for the others too- Tokyo, Rio, Nairobi, Helsinki...even Berlin and Seoul. I did love the sequence of Woojin and the Professor reuniting, but to sideline the others' arcs seems a little annoying. When did those two become the primary characters of the show? I would argue that the rest of the crew is more loved by the viewers.
Depends on what you are looking for! I found it charming and adored the characters more and more with time. It…
Thank you for the detailed reply! I don't need lots of physical affection in a show, but I do prefer a romance that isn't vague or "just a hint of it". Would you say this show's main leads are most definitely a couple?
What are the dramas you think are unpopular but of excellent quality? I agree with your point, and want to see…
I love your worldview :) Ah, I know of these dramas and have planned to watch some of them. I have also enjoyed a few of them...Uncle is one of my favourites! As for me, I don't mind watching new dramas, but I seek dramas that have a very specific atmosphere to it- sombre, brooding, hopeful, introspective. Light romcoms are fun to watch, but are of no substance and easily forgettable. Unfortunately these ones are most palatable and popular overseas.
The constant confusion about "Romance as a genre".The word "Romance" simply means "Rome"…
Interesting breakdown, but I don't agree that it applies here. I think that's a stretch, made merely for the sake of justifying something. In contemporary popular literature and media, romance as a 'tag' nearly always applies to some sort of interpersonal relationship with love/affection undertones at the very least. You can argue about the semiotics all you want, but in drama culture, the romance genre or 'tag' has always connoted something very specific.
From the comments it seems that this show does not have romance at all. Why is the romance tag in the genres then? Is there any way it can be removed, so that it doesn't mislead others?
I’m feeling a similar way. I’ve just finished episode 4 but I feel like I’m still waiting for it to start.…
Yes, a huge disappointment. While many of my favourite dramas happen to be Netflix ones, they are the rare few. I wish we would just keep getting the kbs/sbs/jtbc/tvn dramas. The netflix intervention has not only cut down on episodes (and valuable plot development) but also turned each show into something like colourful plastic.
He's a good actor. Hopefully 'When I Meet the Moon' will draw more attention to him.
love scout was so good
must've assumed you were a teen

I still don't think it warrants it, but okay
