Not even a month ago, Yeondoo was cheated on and betrayed by the man she thought she would marry who on top of…
Having a sane conversation about this with the parents -- neither TY or YD has any model of this in their lives with their families. It's sort of a miracle that they've been able to achieve what they have in navigating these tough issues with each other. But with their families - it's all fireballs and acting out and reacting instead of thinking how the other person might feel. I think these two have to be solidly in love to even attempt it. All that said, I can't count the times when I just look at the screen and think - man, a couple of sentences would clear this up -- this goes not just for this show but tons of kdramas. But because I LOVE this show, I simply accept it. :)
My over-analysis of the day before the new episodes are finally here and i go back to write 3-4k of words about…
I love that you capitalized The Arcade Photostrip. It made me imagine this whole array of artifacts after all is said and done. As if, in a hundred years from now, someone unearths a cache of goods that traces the arc of their relationship. And thanks for your deep dive. I look forward to it every week.
Since we are slowly nearing the weekend again, albeit at snails pace, have a friendly reminder that loony luna…
I wonder if it's going to go the route of the villain in The Glory - where she ends up literally losing her mind. It doesn't seem like that kind of show, so probably not. And not that I want that to happen. I just want all her lies and manipulations fully and completely exposed and for no one to forgive her. While I eat popcorn and cackle away at the screen.
I understand that Oh Yeon Doo wants to be independent but I swear she says things like "don't worry, we will be…
Both the leads are such dopes, which I love. They say stupid and hurtful things, sometimes they realize it and apologize, sometimes not. TY is doing better right now than YD. It's going to make they're falling in love that much better. Or so I hope.
This show continues to slay for me despite all the ridiculous phone hijinks,;the implausible access Ms. Jang has to any place ever, apparently; the grandma's outfits (getting wilder each week - those sunglasses - my god). I love this f'in show. LOVE it. When those two leads finally kiss, my head is going to explode. And when Ms. Jang has her come to jesus moment, when all her sh*t gets revealed, I will be crowing in delight.
It is the only show I'm dying to watch each week, right now. Nothing compares.
I gotta say, I love how both YD and TH are horrified at living together. It's going to make the falling in love so sweet. Like other folks here, I was thinking, "Oof, 50 episodes?" But now I'm into it, since it will give them time to truly fall in love. It's so great that there's no "insta-attration" going on here.
And the scene in Ep. 9 with the ultrasound? So lovely.
I love this show like mad. In spite of the sometimes low production value and sketchy acting (not the MCs - they're great), it is the campy melodrama I didn't know I needed. I'm rooting so hard for the MCs. And I need a big old fight scene with Grandma and Yeon Doo's mom.
This family (Woo Joo's) is so fucking frustrating. All they have to do is assess Dong Jin on his own merits and say that the evil mom isn't welcome at functions. Jesus. And I know, as an American, that my concept of filial duty is not the same as in Korea, so it is hard for me to comprehend the lengths the mom and sister are going to. Not one person in that family believes they have any duty to Woo Joo. Not one. These last two episodes were so slow moving that I almost gave up. I hope there is a big finish that makes all this worth it.
So, I want to check if I understand who knows what at this point.
1) Dong Jin knows who Woo Joo is. 2) Woo Jin knows who Dong Jin is. 3) Do they both know that the other person knows who they are?
I got a little confused in the last episode when Woo Joo's family is talking in the karaoke room about the house situation and there was a scene where Dong Jin and Woo Joo were standing on the street in front of the house, implying that they both knew who the other was. Did Woo Joo imagine that?
4) Dong Jin does NOT know that Woo Joo came to work to destroy him. 5) Woo Joo's mom and sister don't know who Woo Jin is. 6) Evil mom doesn't know shit.
Loving this show more and more. I was relieved to see that Hye Seong had a more substantive story arc in this episode. I hope it continues.
Dong Jin in the hospital waiting room with CEO Shin- everything!
It continues to crack me up every week at how SLOW everyone walks in this show. I've had knee replacement surgery and walk faster than most of them. I know it's supposed to convey sadness and/or contemplation, but the show would be five minutes shorter every week if folks walked a bit faster.

Is this all correct?
