Hmmm that’s my exact thought for her romance in LLTG… I still loved the drama & rated it high, but I didn’t feel strong chemistry between them.
Here the writing of their romance ain’t completely perfect but you do see the chemistry once he admitted to himself that he liked her…his jelousy scenes are funny
You can feel that they are actually attracted to each other & their scenes together seem natural.
Their kiss scenes are realistic…lol like he’s been waiting for them.
CP here is %100 better in my opinion

I get it when they do cliffhangers but this frustratingly go way beyond that!
Talk about no closer whatsoever 🤦🏻‍♀️
Don’t get me wrong…I loved everything about it except that.
How can you let us follow all them plots then go and finish the season with 90% of it no where near solved.
At least kill the annoying bad guy, confirm an identity, see regrets from a parent’s decision or at least let us see a wedding…any wedding for that matter from any of the couples! Gosh the ones that were getting married didn’t even see or enjoy theirs.
Those last 4 episodes were a disappointment.
I can’t believe I waited all this time for this…but will have to admit that chances are I’m still willing to watch Part 2, but this drama takes too long for anything so I won’t be prioritising it & make myself wait weeks for an ep.
I’m that upset that I’m planning to forget it & come back only when part 2 finish airing..maybe never…we’ll see

Yes…Minglan emperor did pop into my mind when watching this…very rare to find understanding rulers in this type of long dramas & same here with the re-watch lol I watch Minglan every year once or twice since it’s been out!

Really? Wow no wonder why…Minglan is my top costume drama of all time & I found myself entertained throughout with this one as well.
Minglan ofcourse has more depth…but you can’t mistake that both are great & unique dramas in their own rights & both dramas are acted out by my top 2 C-actresses 🤗

Clingy FL was getting embarrassing! How many times does he have to tell her to move on?
2nd FL was bad enough but really felt wrong how FL kept on running back like an obsessive little girl.
Really hoped for a different ending by that point

Absolutely not a good match…I have seen some of her other dramas & liked her in them so your right…their pairing is not compatible at all, no chemistry.

The only costume drama where I feel like the King is living his best life at home & as the ruler lol

1st half was good…great potential but honestly I felt like when the romance started the show did a turn of event.
FL went from badass to being an incompetence police officer…her character cost the criminals to escape again & again.
ML went from smart to incapable sometimes.
Their romance was hella cringy & boring only bearable by skipping them.
And in the thriller category I wouldn’t even rate this in the top 100 & don’t think season 2 should be in the works.
The acting was okay but the writing & plot for the 2nd half was a fail… not to mention predicable.
Had to make myself finish the last few episodes…which is sad considering the excitement & energy I invested starting this drama.
If your looking for something somewhat fun to pass the time without too much depth then this is for you…go in without too much expectations & you’ll really enjoy it.
It’s not bad but it’s not great either…it’s just a letdown in terms of high expectations especially when watching it live waiting all week for an episode to finish it feeling disappointed.

Completed the full drama & although I’ve enjoyed it throughout especially being a big fan of Zhao Lu Si but what I really want to do now is to express great admiration for the writers.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I kept expecting the same-old same-old plot scripts of excessive schemings & me watching it with frustration & utter annoyance 🤦🏻‍♀️ but my goodness how refreshing it is to watch the complete opposite of it all & on top of that enjoyed it so much more.
Even with that great change I found myself worried that it may get boring…but wow!, the creativeness to write great upstanding characters yet needed to add in chaos, obsessions, corruption & life-threatening plots without influencing them all to damnation is Outstanding to me already but to go beyond that & throw in great comedy & keeping us interested with all that through out both series is Gold Star material.
Let me add the fact that we don’t have to frustratingly follow any prolonged schemings or plots should be enough to convince anyone hesitating to watch this due to its length.
I’m really looking forward to whatever they write next…these writers think outside the box & make it look good, of course not perfect but perfect for my taste.
Highly recommended.

Yes I’m also watching the rating on here…finale was only yesterday & its rating is already in par with the No 1 K-drama.
I’m sure its gonna knock it off by the end of today.

I get where you’re coming from mainly because I agree with most of what you said.
I rated this drama a 10/10 despite all that and that’s mainly due to Nimii’s point of view…..the non-stop enjoyment each drama produced from start to finish.

I’ve certainly loved better dramas than this with much more depths yet rated them lower, I even found this drama a little bit predictable- but the excitement of clicking the next episode not to mention that an impatient person like waiting every week for an episode & finish that episode feeling satisfied is a rarity despite everything that you mentioned.
For many it’s very hard to find a drama like that with beginning, middle & end all in the same level of entertainment even with their obvious little flaws.
For that alone it deserves the 10 rating…of course now with much expectations.. Season 2 will definitely be viewed & rated from a critical point of view for sure.

Right!…I knew her from Hot Stove League & she could have easily been written in a romance with ML there & I would be nodding along the way.
And I’ve watched romance dramas with actresses that looked great but came off less appealing on scenes.
I think she castes off an innocent yet determine & strong vibe that makes her adorably cute in her dramas…it’s also complimentary to any ML next to her.

Didn’t think Park Eun Bin’s acting with this character could get any better but darn it if I didn’t get teary at a certain part in that last episode.
She perfected such vulnerability when she said what she needed to say for all those years….gosh she made me want to give her a hug through the screen lol

Yes I was worried abt the ending expecting another rushed one to ruin another good drama but surprisingly it wrapped up ever so nicely…much better than what I was expecting
