Yeah, that’s why I prefer slap and kiss when it’s Chinese or Korean… they succeed in being a lot more subtle than the Thai dramas Moreover, Thai dramas with slap and kiss no longer (or rarely) get surprising or fluttering… they use and re-use the same annoying tropes and this genre is way too present in their culture to awake anything new…

Thank you ! That’s what I meant ! In Dramaland, it is extremely rare for a FEMALE LEAD to get raped, especially by someone else than the male lead. A secondary character can get raped (nothing rare about this : Princess Agents, The Autumn Ballad, The Twin Flower Legend…) but a female lead is sort of protected (except for Thai dramas, but that’s another story : moreover, the rapist in Thai dramas is always the male lead so I think they barely treat it as rape)

I don’t think so Usually, when a female lead gets raped in an original novel, the drama adaptation erases that part (ex : The Confidence, Tears in Heaven, General and I…) especially if she’s been raped by someone else than the male lead (the unsaid rules of Dramaland : a female lead cannot get raped. If this happens, this can only be by the male lead. There are some exceptions of course but that’s pretty it)
