Really? The editing makes sense then. They had to cut a lot out. Sad.
That actually explains a lot. I wonder if they cut any Do-yun/Cho-won scenes because their story seems to especially be missing key moments from the webcomic.
I feel like most comments are from people who don't like fantasy genre in general. The plot might have a few loopholes…
There's way more to it than not liking fantasy. Most people loved the first few eps, then it started going downhill around ep 6. They are adding too many plots, some of which have huge holes in them, for only 12 eps. There are too many flashbacks and unnecessary scenes that take up time and are getting old. Also, I know that manhwa adaptations tend to be terrible in general, but IMO that doesn't mean we should lower the bar for others.
The comic explains it better, although Cho-won it really was just love at first sight. Do-yun doesn't start really…
Lol, I was wondering if it was me since I have talked them up a LOT there! I'm mad about a lot of things, but I could have forgiven more if they hadn't sliced up Do-yun and Cho-won's relationship. Sigh. Are you referring to him looking at pictures of that location on his phone? I really don't get that, either. Makes zero sense given the rules of reincarnation that the drama has established. In the comic Do-yun's feelings and thoughts about Cho-won are pretty ambiguous until later in the story, and then they show you everything that happened between them from his point of view (why couldn't you have done that, drama? Whyyy?)

yeah, i also don't know why this is 8.7. story is random, characters are not very well explained and somehow many…
No, i love the comic and it has the same dynamic. It's because the writing is getting pretty bad (for instance Min-gi is poorly written and there are tons of plot holes with the first life stuff) and the editing is getting worse. There's too much plot for 12 eps, esp a romcom.
Well, having a 24-year-old appearance is probably the least important aspect of what the role is. The lack of…
I think SHS is doing very well in every department but the romance. She's a great actress, but I'm not sure she's a good romance lead. The writing certainly isn't helping, though. It hasn't given the leads much space to just spend time looking tenderly at the other person or those little things that really sell an onscreen romance.
I'm not convinced that Anh Bo-hyun is a great romance lead, either.
I keep thinking Lee Jun-ho would be good. Not only does he fit the more delicate kind of look, he really can convey falling in love with someone (he's a major reason KTL's romance is working so well right now). Or Im Si-wan would also have fit in terms of how the character is intended to be.
I remember when Anh Bo-hyun was first cast a lot of people were upset, to the extent that I saw articles about it in Korean media, because he didn't fit the role physically. He lost weight to satisfy them and I'm sure that helped, but something is still not working for me with him in the role. It's not really his fault or anything he's doing wrong.
Wow the webtoon story does sound much better. Hated the forced connections.
In the webcomic no one is connected minus her and one other character in her first life. Her father wasn't involved in the accident. Neither was Do-yun's father.
Agreed. I like a lot about this series, but the music is definitely off. I went back and rewatched a bunch of…
I think there are more serious elements to the story that it makes sense to emphasize in a drama, but then it hurts the romance. Maybe they should have taken out the romance if they were going to do that. I think having both elements makes it feel tonally off.
First life is very important nd main track of show, so they have casted same lead actors so that viewers will…
But again, it's not just the audience in the mystery, it's Ji-eum. She shouldn't be able to recognize Seo-ha and the others based on what the drama has previously established. Also, even if they randomly reincarnate looking like their first life, does it really track that all of them would have happened to reincarnate looking the same at the exact same time? Yes, it would have taken another 12 episodes, which is why they should have structured this plot twist better to fit with the rules of their universe. I can't see how bending the rules that they established just to make a shortcut in the plot is not bad writing.
I'm not overanalyzing, this is something that the drama made overly complicated and didn't think through.
I don't know why they thought they could compile the whole webtoon into a 12-episode drama of quality. This has…
I think 12 eps could have worked if they'd stuck to the comic's major plot points and not added so many things. I agree, I had high hopes for this adaptation and am so disappointed.
This isn't just the changes that come from adapting one medium to another. They made very deep, substantial changes…
The other changes are fine, even if I don't love them, but to me changing her first life is too much. It's like a jump the shark moment for me. That and the negative consequences for finding people from your previous lives. If it weren't for those two things, I would be less upset.
Also, with all due respect, I think reading the webcomic after already seeing the drama and a lot of its changes gives you a different experience and may influence your perception of how those changes come across than someone who read the webcomic long before the drama adaptation was even announced.
