i have some questions since you chexked out the webtoon.did the webtoon covered more from the 1st life.was there…
Yes, the main romance is better in the webtoon imo. Ji-eum's first life in the webtoon is very, very different. The drama changed a lot. If people are hoping to find out more info about things in the drama by reading the webcomic, I would not recommend it because the webcomic is so different.
The manwha author was involved in this drama and gave advice etc, he also wanted to change up things a bit to…
We don't know if Lee Hye was actually okay with the changes. The drama team might have overruled her. She promotes the drama and seems happy with it, but I can't imagine she's allowed to express any frustrations if she has them
After all that, we don't even get a real kiss between the second leads? In the comic they had a much better kiss, and we even got two kisses. It's like this drama just wanted to get rid of everything I loved in the comic, and in some cases even do the opposite.
I know she was part of it, and that's why i was expecting this to be a faithful adaptation. It's essentially bastardized…
I'm not asking for 100% similar, I'm asking to respect the original themes and ideas of the source material. The drama literally changed the message of the webcomic to be the opposite. It went from being about choice to predestination, and about loss and grief to revenge. That's more than just "not 100% similar." It even changed the ending. You can tell when an adaptation respects and loves its source material , even if it changes a lot. This drama clearly does not.
Btw I loved this drama until about ep 5 when it really began to go off of the rails.
Yes, almost everything is changed including the ending
Her first life is entirely different and about revenge rather than self punishment. Seo-ha, Min-gi, Cho-won, and Do-yun are all in her first life as well (Cho-won is her sister in this version, not Do-yun). The ending is that she lets go of her desire for revenge and that ends the cycle of remembering as well as the harm that would befall people she knew from her past lives. But in exchange she loses all memories of her past lives right away, including the relationships with people from her past lives in her current life. It ends with her back in her old job as an engineer, and the three other leads plotting to get her back into their lives. Cho-won finds her and befriends her, and recommends Ae-gyeong's restaurant to her (Ae-gyeong had surgery and is no longer dying). Seo-ha finds and reconnects with him saying the same things to her (like asking her out) that she said to him the first time she found him.
No, in 'A Good Day to Be a Dog,' there was nothing like forgetting memories. But yes, the way Hana's curse of becoming…
It's actually kind of similar to A Good Day to be a Dog. She gets the curse removed, but the payoff is that her memories of Seo-ha are removed (only in A Good Day to be a Dog, it's the ML who loses his memories of her)
I haven't read the webtoon yet. What happens in that scene you mentioned? 🙂I wish there would have been more…
The scene where Do-yun finally accepts Cho-won happens in the rain. She's sitting in the rain writing an email to him saying that she's finally gonna leave him alone. He sees her and comes up to her with an umbrella, mirroring how they first met. It legit made me cry when i read it
From the ep 12 preview: are they seriously changing the Do-yun/Cho-won scene in the comic that was incredibly cinematic and that I was most looking forward to? Whyyy do you do the things you do, drama??
I was wondering where all the negativity came from since the drama (story, acting, ost etc) is so damn good with…
I know she was part of it, and that's why i was expecting this to be a faithful adaptation. It's essentially bastardized the story. If you're gonna adapt a story keep the themes the same don't go the opposite. Just because Lee Hye is okay with this (remember, she's getting paid) doesn't mean we have to be
Omg that's what it is. They basically have no chemistry. I've been racking my brain for why it felt so off. I…
Honestly I think it's both of them... and not to say that they're both bad, it just might be they're not a good fit together. I don't think SHS is really selling the romance, either, but maybe it's because ABH is coming across as stiff. And/or maybe ABH is having trouble because of SHS reacting to him or because she's not really the softest in her romance scenes (again, imo). It doesn't help that the drama gives their relationship such little time to just breathe. KTL isn't my favorite drama, but just think about that scene where they're setting tables and nothing is happening, they're just looking at each other. Or just hanging out and having fun. IMO romance dramas need some moments like that
Nah. People are never satisfied with anything. Showing all kinds of hate to this unique beautiful drama. Even…
I wish people would stop saying that critics of this drama have issues with the genre. It's not true. You can have issues with a drama even if it's your favorite genre and you should love everything about it. My issue with this drama isn't the storyline per se (although I think they added in way too much plot compared to the webcomic's story), it's the way it's being executed.
Omg that's what it is. They basically have no chemistry. I've been racking my brain for why it felt so off. I…
I think it's the writing too. The webcomic has less going on and places the relationships front and center. I also think the drama emphasizes or adds onto elements of the webcomic that make the romance feel weirder (like the past lives, especially Ji-eum still having abilities and talents from past lives which she did not have in the webcomic, and constant references to Ju-won)
Btw I loved this drama until about ep 5 when it really began to go off of the rails.
