No, this is just jealousy and possessiveness. If he really was starting to love her he wouldn't keep deceiving her. He would have broken up with his mistress for real. He would act in HER best interest, instead of his own. He cares about her staying his wife because it would look bad if she left him and it's upsetting his lifestyle, no more than that.

That attitude is the problem. She isn't lesser because she's older and has kids. A woman's value isn't dependent on her ability to have kids. Roy is no spring chicken himself in terms of reproductive age, and if he married a woman his age (early forties) she would not be super likely to conceive either. If having his own biological children is THAT important to him, it's his own fault because he's the one who put off marriage this long. But I suspect he doesn't care, and he'd be fine with being a stepfather. In America, this would not make most parents upset. The ones that would be upset would probably already have given up on Roy ever getting married and having kids. They would probably just be happy that they have a daughter-in-law and any grandchildren, even if they're step. And since Roy's adopted, it's not like they would be biologically related to the grandkids anyway.

Yes, exactly! And of course she can't admit to herself that Roy likes her, why would she think a guy like that would want her? Not only is she older, a mother, and possibly facing divorce (which kdramas have taught me is a huge stigma), her husband has spent years without loving her, I'm sure at some level she internalized that. And she's facing so much cultural messaging about staying in a marriage even if it's loveless. Like even her very supportive and loving mother said that to her.

I don't agree - In-ho is shown as worse and worse every episode. They aren't giving him one redeeming factor. This isn't a second chance romance.
