Short, Simple and Easy to Watch

Completed - 6/6/2022

A very short drama special about two individuals meeting at the Marriage making company. Within an hour and 5 minutes, this special is able to tell the love story of our leads from disliking each other, building a business relationship to friendship and then falling in love. The plot is simple but engaging and I don't feel like I am missing a step in their relationship. Chemistry between the leads is pretty good. There are some laugh-out-loud moments, which could be perceived as over-the-top.

"Let us Meet' also provides enough background information about the leads to give us an idea of the societal pressure of individuals living in that era. Women are opposed to arranged marriage with strangers during these 'modern' times. As Kyungsung (old name for Seoul) is changing, marriage is not necessarily about love but looking for the right conditions, such as money, status and education. With the Japanese occupation as a backdrop, this drama special also provided glimpses of what life was like for women. Do not expect a deep dive into these socio-economic issues as that's not "Let us Meet" is about, and besides, it's too short.

I would recommend this if you just want something short, simple and easy to watch.
