Is it just me, but it seems like episodes 1-8 vs episodes 9+10 are two different dramas. 1-8 was like silly and cute and 9 and 10 were on the edge of my seat, action drama series? Not saying there's anything wrong with that but the tone of the drama has definitely changed.
This series is one of the best coming of age dramas I've seen. The character development is well done and it's relatable. I find myself thinking of when I was a young adult in the 90s, some of the struggles both Hee Do and Yin Jin went through were similar to mine. Those are the best dramas when you can personally relate and connect with the story or the characters.
Thank you so much Ether for subbing 8 and 9. I started this drama over 4 months ago and I'm so glad I check back from time to time to see if the rest of this series has been subbed. Since episode I I've fallen hard for Morio and all of these characters. You truly want to root for all of them. It's just a heartwarming, educational drama that's funny too. I will wait for episode 10, but I know I'm going to be so sad when I finish this. It's been a beautiful journey with this one.
Great article! I think you have a lot of great points here. I'm not a huge historical watcher, but if a new one hits the charts and everyone is talking about it, I'll watch. Case in point, Red Sleeve or The King's Affection. I think in general tho, what makes any drama more romantic whether it's then or now, has got to be the chemistry between the two leads. That dialog; those unspoken words and that aura about them that makes your heart beats faster just when they enter a room and their eyes are talking and not their mouths. Also the OST and cinematography has to be on point to add to the romance of the drama. It's also what you hear and see that adds to that romance that surrounds the couple.
Wow, I don't think I've ever cried that hard during an episode 3 of a Kdrama? It's so early in the series? That reuniting they did with NJH and his dad hit me so hard. There's a lot of similarities with their story and mine,
Yaaas on the sisterhood story of these 3 BFFs Yaaas on the skillful acting of SYJ and JMD Yaaas to the cool OST and beautiful pastel colors this series paints Yaaas to the funny and witty lines these women give each other that crack me up bc I have sarcastic friends too.
Thought I was over NJH once Start Up was finished.... NOPE. He is just an amazing actor. It's only been 2 episodes, but that scene already where he promised not to be happy ever again, you can't help but root for this character. I can't wait to see how their relationship develops.
First noticed him in Weightlifting and fell hard for him again in Start Up. He is of essence of what I call Mr. Adorable Sexy Beast , lol. So far he's killin it in 25, 21.
So far I've watched 3 episodes. And so far I've laughed literally out loud about 10 times. Kele Sun is just so hilarious- I love sarcasm, so if you're into that, you'll love his character. Hanna plays a smart FL that is ignorant to some of his comments, but she's a likeable character. I would recommend watching this for a light and fluffy rom com.
WAIT!
Love a good ole fashion contract marriage drama
NJH is the master of that oppa stare. 💯
